It’s the name of the NYT reporter who recently wrote a biography of president [name]Obama[/name]'s mother. Your thoughts? What’s your mental image of a woman named Janny?
Janny evokes an image of a middle aged woman, mainly my old boss who was a tall and slim librarian (her name was [name]Janice[/name].) It doesn’t feel very new to me, in fact it feels really dated. I’m not sure how to really phrase it, but I just don’t like it. I think I could maybe work as a nickname for something, though I’m having a hard time thinking of a fresher sounding name. I also makes me think of [name]Jan[/name] [name]Brady[/name].
I hope I haven’t offended anybody, and if I have apologize!

You’re spot-on as regards the age group. I wonder if in Janny [name]Scott[/name]'s case it’s a nickname but when I googled her I didn’t find a full name.
