Thoughts on the name [name_u]January[/name_u]?
[name_u]January[/name_u] is one of my favorite month names. However, I think month names are best used in the month that matches the name. So don’t name an [name_f]October[/name_f] baby [name_u]January[/name_u], y’know?
[name_m]How[/name_m] funny, I’m the opposite. I think it would be weird to have a baby named [name_u]August[/name_u] who was born in [name_u]August[/name_u]. People are named [name_f]April[/name_f] and not born in [name_f]April[/name_f] so why not [name_u]January[/name_u]? I think it’s cute, not my personal style, but kinda fun anyways.
I think it’s lovely. Also think it works better somehow if the child is not born in the month they’re named.
I’ve never considered it before but I quite like it - it has a pleasing sound, plus connotations of new starts and change
I don’t like it, personally. It doesn’t sound like a name to me and I think of the girl named [name_u]January[/name_u] who suffers from severe schizophrenia.
I like [name_u]January[/name_u] very much and agree with those who say it’s better not to be born in that month. However, it would be sweet if there was some subtle (not conception!) connection, such as a special birthdate or anniversary.
not crazy about it
It’s one of my least favorite month names, I simply dislike the sound and nicknames ([name_f]Jen[/name_f]? [name_f]Jenny[/name_f]? [name_m]Ary[/name_m]?)
I personally would find it a bit weird for a summer baby to be named [name_u]January[/name_u], unless there was a reason for it. For example, [name_u]January[/name_u] being the month the parents met/got married or when they realized they were expecting etc
I like it! I think it’s got a lovely, lively sound and a nice namesake in the beautiful [name_u]January[/name_u] [name_m]Jones[/name_m].
I don’t think it matters if it’s used on a baby for a different month but I months like [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] and maybe [name_u]August[/name_u] would be used any time of year while the others be more commonly use for that specific month.
I have a friend born in [name_f]September[/name_f] and that is her name. Her daughter was born in [name_u]January[/name_u] and was given the name [name_u]January[/name_u].
I also think of [name_u]January[/name_u] [name_m]Jones[/name_m] -pretty.
This was my associate as well! However, I admit that I do like the sound of it but can’t really see it as an actual name. Maybe a GP, at most.
I love [name_u]January[/name_u], I can see it on a winter baby, Nov - Feb.
[name_m]Ive[/name_m] always thought it to be a really pretty name. [name_u]Ari[/name_u] is a lovely nickname, but I don’t think you’d need to shorten it.
My favorite month names are [name_f]October[/name_f] ([name_u]Tobey[/name_u]), [name_u]January[/name_u], [name_u]November[/name_u]/[name_f]September[/name_f] ([name_f]Em[/name_f]/[name_u]Ember[/name_u]), and [name_u]August[/name_u]. I think they’re wearable all year!
I don’t like month names at all…I know [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are used frequently, but the others are just months and kind of silly sounding.
