[name_u]Baby[/name_u] is due in a few weeks and we’re down to these 2 options - [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] (Róisín). Her older sister is [name_u]Indi[/name_u] (Indigo). They’re half-Irish but live in [name_u]England[/name_u]. Still feel unsure but we have such different tastes, it’s been hard to reach a shortlist!
We both love short flowing names, husband likes [name_f]Ella[/name_f], I like [name_u]Alma[/name_u], both liked (but not loved) [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] but so often hear teachers saying they’d be lost in a sea of Isla/Ava/Leilas.
We know if [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] got shortened to [name_u]Jaz[/name_u] we’d have 2 musical genres for children, but that’s ok… I think.
I know my mum doesn’t like [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] but that’s irrelevant… I think.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] looking for some shared thoughts and/or further inspiration! Thanks

Oh, [name_u]Indi[/name_u] and [name_u]Jaz[/name_u] together would be so cool. The music thing didn’t even occur to me until you mentioned it.
[name_u]Indi[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is cute too, but I feel like the full names [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Róisín[/name_f] are a bit mismatched - if I was [name_f]Róisín[/name_f] I know I’d probably resent having the more ‘difficult’ spelling/pronunciation than my sister! [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] make a gorgeous pair

Here’s some assorted thoughts:
- I think [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] & [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] is a more coherent pairing (though still surprising)
- [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_u]Irish[/name_u] friend [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] finally told me (we were living in [name_u]England[/name_u] at the time) I was butchering her name - saying Ruh-SHEEN, instead of RO-SHEEN. She said practically everyone found it tricky (outside [name_u]Ireland[/name_u] I presume!). That doesn’t mean don’t use it, just if there are two names you love the same amount, this might tilt it.
- Having said that I really love Rose/Rosie - and it’s nice to honour her heritage!
- [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is a lovely and solid name - it’ll age well! - and it is refreshing among the LA-ending names. You can’t help smile at the name.
- Other names that might go: Tallulah; [name_f]Junia[/name_f] nn Junie; [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] nn Juno; Delphi; Cadence; Josepha; Sunday; Elowen; [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] nn Willa/Willo; [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] (for a few extra nickname options than [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] offers): [name_u]Romilly[/name_u] nn Romy; Serena; Autumn; [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn Daisy; Saskia; Florentine; Orla; [name_f]Oonagh[/name_f], Aoife; Meabh/Maeve or Niamh/Neve.
- [name_u]Or[/name_u] just [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]?
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]! I love their nature connections, the musical nicknames and the way they go together. [name_f]Róisín[/name_f], although lovely, seems mismatched with [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].

I prefer [name_f]Róisín[/name_f], but [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] goes better with [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] - I think it goes with the distinctive nature of Indigo/Indi
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u] & [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] sound like a fun set of sisters!
[name_f]Róisín[/name_f] is lovely! I think [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] goes better with [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], but if you’re not worried too much about coherent-ness, [name_f]Róisín[/name_f] is a great choice.
