We are pretty much decided on the middle names [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] for our blue bump but we can’t decide whether [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] or [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] would be best.
I love both but [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] seems like quite a controversial choice when you mention it to other people which I know shouldn’t matter but…
On the other hand, is [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] too religious? Plus I’m not too sure if I like [name_m]Ben[/name_m]…
So what do you think?
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]
My other children are:
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] [name_u]Claude[/name_u]
Honestly, I like both but I feel like [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] is “fresher”. It does not seem too religious to me, and that’s keeping in mind I studied [name_m]Art[/name_m] [name_m]History[/name_m] so I know enough about the Benedictine Order. It reminds me of Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f] About Nothing, which is a good thing. And [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] flows better, in my opinion.
As much as I love [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] (ironically, the religious aspect of it is one reason why it ranks so high on our list lol), I think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] works best in your case. People can get over it.
Personally I prefer [name_m]Benedict[/name_m], because it’s more interesting and unusual, and whilst it does have a bit of a religious feel, due to other associations, mainly the actor, it’s not as obvious. I don’t really see how [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is controversial, although it’s likely I’m missing something, but either way, I agree that [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] flows best too. Plus I think [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] goes well with your daughters’ names, although [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] probably sounds a bit better with [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] is quite the mouthful!
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] however, shorter, sweeter and simpler fits your other kids’ names better
If you really like [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] however, you could call him “[name_m]Ned[/name_m]” or “[name_m]Eddie[/name_m]” so no one uses [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
Though, to be honestt I would just tgo with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
Definitely [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] is quite fussy compared to your other children’s names. [name_m]Even[/name_m] more so with [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]. Not sure what’s controversial about [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] though.
I prefer [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], which is one of my favourite names. Personally I’m not keen on the sound of [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]. It doesn’t seem overtly religious to me, probably because there’s a celebrity here in the UK with the name.
