I think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is quite a trendy name right now, but [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] has a most unique feeling. Also, speaking about nicknames I prefer [name_u]Cass[/name_u] rather than [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_u]Jazz[/name_u].
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I just just can’t imagine a real [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. I’m afraid it would stand out,and not in a good way.
I like [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] better, and I wish I could use it, but I’m not sure it works outside of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]. It’s such a cool name and I dislike [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], though, so I’d still have to vote [name_m]Caspian[/name_m].
It was a hard decision but I settled on [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] just because it was on my shortlist for my eldest. I like [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] too and would be pleasantly surprised to meet a baby [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
I prefer [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I can actually see it working on a person. There’s something about it that does feel friendly, edgy, yet approachable. [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is all [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] to me and just feels way too fanciful to actually be used outside of a novel.
Hard! I like them both. I even thought go Jaspian (and Jaspen).
I love both, but I prefer [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] for a FN. I love the whole [name_m]Gaspar[/name_m] family ([name_m]Gaspard[/name_m], [name_m]Gaspar[/name_m], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], etc.! Although [name_m]Casper[/name_m] is my favorite), and the association with the [name_f]Magi[/name_f] visiting baby [name_m]Jesus[/name_m], plus [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]'s meaning. I love [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] for the tie to [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], although I generally prefer it as a MN.
Good luck!
Both these names are on my list! I love and adore [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], but I voted [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I do love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] as well. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I have [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] on my list I’d only use it as a middle name. [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] just feels more wearable as a first name to me personally.
I’m always going to be incredibly biased towards [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]; he’s handsome, magical, adventurous, fun, unusual, has an awesome literary association, familiar, and easy to say and spell. If nicknames are your thing, I’m not actually a big fan of [name_m]Cas[/name_m], but there are so many wonderful options too, Cip ([name_m]Kip[/name_m]), [name_m]Cap[/name_m], [name_u]Blue[/name_u] (because of the sea), Cit ([name_u]Kit[/name_u]), [name_m]Pan[/name_m]. I do like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], but it can’t hold a candle to [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] in my eyes.
I voted [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], though [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is also lovely. I associate [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] with the sea as much as [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], and I know of a little boy named [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], so I think its perfectly useable.
