Husband came up with the idea of using [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] as a girl’s name…I sort of like it for a middle name, but am unsure.
I really like [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]. I heard it from a couple at our church (they have a [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]) and fell in love with it.
Thoughts?
We’re thinking something like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions for these MNs? Are these names wearable in your opinion?
I think middle names you can get more creative with, so I suppose they work. I personally think [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] (I know quite a few Jasmines that go by [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] or [name_m]Jazzy[/name_m]) is much more wearable as a name than [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f], but if you like it, then go for it!
[name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] is really sweet as a mn, I think. Not really liking the pairing of [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] though… On the other hand, I am not a fan of [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] as a name or mn, but [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] is very cute!
My general rule of thumb is that two word names start to sound stagey (or worse). All four words are lovely names, but I think need pairings with non-words ([name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] in particular sounds like a celebration or festival for olives).
Of the four I think [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] is the best - it’s refreshing and joyous. You also mention that you are church-going, and in Christianity a jubilee is a special year for universal pardon, which is a nice connotation to have. Would you consider using [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] as the first name? [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] could work.
I prefer [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] too - I think it’s so bright and fun, and would make a great middle name. [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] sounds like a (male) dog name to me, I’m afraid, even though I know a [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] who goes by [name_m]Jazzy[/name_m].
I agree that [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] doesn’t really work with a first name which is also a word; [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] kind of remind me of the paper/china/crystal wedding anniversaries tradition. Something a bit more grounded and traditional would balance the pizzazz of [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] better, I think.
I really like [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]! I do not like [name_u]Jazz[/name_u]. I agree that [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] doesn’t work. I know a little [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f], so I love it as a first name.
