Jedadiah

I was thinking about this name earlier, with the nickname [name]Jed[/name]. Thoughts? Middle names?

I really like it. A lot!!

I like [name]Jedidiah[/name] - it’s a strong and masculine name from the Bible. [name]Jed[/name] is a great nn too! A lot of people think it’s a “big name” for a boy to live up to but don’t we live most of our lives as adults? I don’t know your surname but with the four-syllable [name]Jedidiah[/name], I think a shorter mn is ideal.

[name]One[/name]-Syllable Middle

[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Lucas[/name]

Haha I’m only 18; not pregnant or trying, certainly. I just have a name addiction.

I like these:

[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Gray[/name]
[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Pierce[/name]
[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Reid[/name]
[name]Jedidiah[/name] [name]Hayes[/name]

Thanks!

Like it a lot:

[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]Bram[/name]
[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]Saul[/name]
[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]LLoyd[/name]
[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]Luke[/name]

I like [name]Jeremiah[/name] as well nn [name]Jem[/name]

[name]Jedadiah[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] is cool!

And it looks like there’s two different spellings, [name]Jedadiah[/name] and [name]Jedidiah[/name]. So the question: Should I spell it the way I say it ([name]Jedadiah[/name], with an ‘uh’ sound) or spell it so that [name]Jedi[/name] is a possible nickname ([name]Jedidiah[/name])?

I’m torn!

I dont like it. Reminds me of a [name]Star[/name] Wars movie or something.

It seems Duggar to me.

I do like [name]Jedidiah[/name] (it only looks right to me spelled this way) but sadly I can only imagine someone very strange (like a dangerous religious radical) wearing it. I mentioned it to my husband and suggested that we could use nn [name]Jedi[/name]. I’m not a [name]Star[/name] Wars fan, just nerdy. It was an instant veto. [name]IMO[/name], [name]Jeremiah[/name] is a much friendlier alternative.

WOW! I just looked up [name]Jeremiah[/name], I had no idea it was so popular (#51).

I know a very adorable boy with this name; he’s about 2 years old. His mum calls him [name]Jed[/name], but his dad calls him [name]Jedi[/name]. I think [name]Jedi[/name] works from either spelling because of JE-d_-[name]DI[/name]-ah.

I love [name]Star[/name] Wars, haha. [name]Jeremiah[/name] has never really struck me; I tend to go for the lesser-known, harsher names. Hard sounds vs. soft sounds. I like names to sound crisp. Part of the appeal is that it IS kind of an ‘oddball name.’

Well, I know my sister prefers [name]Jeremiah[/name], but to me the problems come back to the NN “[name]Jerry[/name]” (nms) and a bullfrog.

[name]Jedidiah[/name] is much nicer than [name]Jeremiah[/name] or the [name]Jedadiah[/name] spelling, personally. [name]Jed[/name] is a laidback, cool nickname. Not sure how I feel about [name]Jedi[/name] since it’s not [name]Jed[/name]-eye-diah?

I know a young [name]Jedidiah[/name] nn [name]Jeddy[/name]. I like that it’s a less commonly used biblical name but one that should be familiar to people. Spelling and pronunciation are straightforward.
