Now as a [name]Sarah[/name] among [name]Sara[/name]'s I hate having my name misspelled and would not want that to happen to my daughter. That said, my husband [name]Justin[/name] likes so few names at all I want to take what I can get. Yet the only way he like [name]Genevieve[/name] is spelled with a J. Should I drop this name off the list or should I keep it even though it looks misspelled to me?
Is there a reason he doesnt like the correct spelling? It seems silly to me to love [name]Jenevieve[/name] but not [name]Genevieve[/name]. I too have a name that is not spelt the traditional way and it is a pain in the rear. I’ve learned to live with it but I will never do it to my kid.
I really don’t know. Maybe cause his name starts with J? He is just weird like that.
Since my name, [name]Lucy[/name], isn’t that uncommon, misspelling isn’t much of an issue for me, so I have to say I don’t know quite what it’s like. However, I think quite honestly that no matter what you name your child, it will be misspelled occasionally. I myself have gotten [name]Luci[/name], Lucey, Lusy, etc.
I wouldn’t entirely drop [name]Jenevieve[/name] from your list, if the sound of the name is something you and your husband both like. I think it’s pretty spelled either way and [name]Genevieve[/name] is a tricky name to spell in and of itself. And with [name]Jenevieve[/name], you could use the nn [name]Jenny[/name], which is pretty too.
[name]Hope[/name] that helps. Good luck!
I don’t like it because it takes away from the classic, sophisticated, french name that is [name]Genevieve[/name]. It looks ‘Americanized’ with a J… I don’t say it as a compliment.
DH needs to either be at peace with the G or you need to drop the name.
[name]How[/name] about some J mn’s?

Aw, darn. I was hoping he would come around to [name]Genevieve[/name] (one of the most beautiful, feminine names in the world, in my opinion!)

So was I. Now I have to attempt to warm up to [name]Aurora[/name] or [name]Phoebe[/name].
