Jenna or Jennifer?

Which do you prefer and why?

Jenna feels a bit fresher to me. [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] just feels like the 70-80s

I’m sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but I much prefer jennifer!
if it hadn’t been so popular once, I am absolutely certain it would be on my list.
it’s the cornish variation of guinevere (which I already have, alongside fellow variation ginevra), and I’m obsessed with it’s beautiful origin and history. I also love how it sounds like conifer - magical and naturey. jenna might have less of a dated feel, but I just find it less appealing on a basic level.

Jennifer feels tied to a past generation and not ready to come again imo. I quite like [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] though, it has a spunky vibe.

Hmm… I like both names actually, but only because I’d like to get the nickname [name_f]Jinny[/name_f]

Today though, I’d probably pick [name_f]Jenna[/name_f].

[name_f]Jenna[/name_f] because like @kidpix21 said, it feels fresher.

Jenna feels brighter and gets my vote.

I prefer [name_f]Jenna[/name_f]. It has more spark

I agree that [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] is too dated - it was huge in the 70s-80s and hasn’t come back into use yet so it would seem very out of place. I presume that [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] would feel a bit fresher, and even fresher than that would be [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].

I really like the name [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]! [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] is sweet and beautiful, but I always adored the name [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. It’s more interesting, lovely sounds, and has a retro chic from the 1950s-70s that appeals to me. [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] is more nondescript and was quite popular in the 80s and 90s, and not quite ready for a comeback.

I also like that I can find the odd [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] going back centuries in my Cornish family history, whereas [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] is a very modern version.

Hmm, hard! I think I prefer [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] for its history.

Definitely [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]

yes it’s dated but it has more nickname options and I’ve always adored this name, even though I’m not into names like it.

Jenna. Although it makes me think of the younger Kardashian sisters.
[name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] is ok but again makes me think of the 80s too.
What about [name_f]Jemima[/name_f]?

I prefer [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. It’s long used and well used enough that it doesn’t feel dated the way some other popular names of the 80s and early 90s do, and I just like the sound better than [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] honestly.

I prefer [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] because it feels more classic, and [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] feels dated and not ready for a comeback. I also have a strong negative association with [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] so take my opinion with a grain of salt (or several). I also just genuinely like the look and sound of [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] better though.

Jenna feels fresher. [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] is quite tired and personally am just not keen on the sound of it.

I like both. [name_f]My[/name_f] granddaughter is called [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. Definitely not [name_f]Jenny[/name_f],. I know this name was very popular. three cousins (various ages and different sides of my family) had [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] for a formal name but were all called [name_f]Jenny[/name_f], To me [name_f]Jenny[/name_f] is very outdated, while [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] in full no nn) is very fresh.

Jenna. It sounds nicer

I prefer [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]! IMO [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] sounds very young? [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] works for all ages but I agree with the previous posters that it does feel a bit dated. I know it’s not an option but I prefer [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as a fresh sounding alternative to [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]!
