Jensen for a girl...wdyt?

I was on Facebook earlier and saw that a friend of one of my friend’s has a little girl named [name]Jensen[/name]. Until now the name had never even occured to me for a girl. When I think of it, all I can picture is the (sexy) actor, [name]Jensen[/name] Ackles. So, I just wondered what other berries thought about?

I have a girl [name]Jensen[/name] in my church youth group. She is such a fun loving, smart girl! It fits her perfectly. I say go for it!

All I can see is [name]Jensen[/name] Ackles, too. He’s a very masculine-looking guy, so it ruins any girlishness to me.

Also–and this may be because he’s from [name]Texas[/name], so the association has popped up in my head–it seems like a really cool sort of Western name to me. You know; I can imagine the boy named [name]Jensen[/name] growing up to be a cowboy. Or a hot actor. That too.

I see WHY they did it–the “[name]Jen[/name]” and “[name]Jenny[/name]” possibilities are there–but it doesn’t work for me.

It is okay, but to me there are so many more pretty names out there for a girl to have. Of course, if that was the only name that the parents loved than no fault on their parts.

I just picture a family I used to know with it as a surname, so seeing it used as a fn is kind of weird to me anyway. But, there is the surname to fn trend going on so she would fit in.

It means ‘son of [name]Jens[/name].’ But of course scads of -son names are used on girls.

You made me laugh! I can totally see [name]Jensen[/name] as a cowboy…

It’s a very common surname in Norway, so I don’t really get it as a first name. However, it’s not the most masculine name, it is a little bit like [name]Jenny[/name], so yeah, I can see it on a little girl with blonde pigtails. Or something like that.

Totally this. I too see [name]Jensen[/name] Ackles, or indeed [name]Jenson[/name] Button, the British F1 racing driver.

Therefore it’s very masculine in my eyes.

No, I love [name]Jenson[/name] on a little boy and it would be a favourite of mine if it weren’t so trendy in the UK.

[name]Jensen[/name] has recently hit the name charts as a great choice for a boy but I feel that it is stretching it a little for daughter perhaps you would prefer [name]Jasper[/name] for a girl as it is softer and more feminine sounding?

rollo

I’ve liked this name for a while, a friend of mine has a teenager named [name]Jensen[/name], and it suits her perfectly.

I only know a little boy named [name]Jensen[/name] (and one named [name]Jansen[/name]). I don’t like it for a girl.

This seems more like a surname to me, so I think it could work for a girl.

missmadness – I just noticed in your signature that you [name]JUST[/name] had a baby girl yesterday!!! Wow. Congratulations!! I’m impressed that you’re on the computer already. I’m hoping that’s a sign that everything gets easier with second and third babies?

I can’t grasp it as a given name, not even on a boy, though I think a boy would stand more of a chance. Maybe it’s just me, but I tend to think surnames as a whole, regardless of whether “son” or “sen” is in it, lean toward the masculine side.

[name]Don[/name]'t get me wrong, if I ever met a girl [name]Jensen[/name] I wouldn’t be wigging out in my mind or anything, it’s just not something I would personally do.

I love [name]Jensen[/name] Ackles ( He is one seriously beautiful man!) so the name is all boy to me.

I do see how it could work for a girl though, with the [name]Jen[/name] beginning.

Noooo. I hear [name]Jensen[/name] Ackles’ deep manly voice, and his antics in Supernatural. I would never use it on a girl, but I can see why some do. [name]Jen[/name] is a feminine nickname, and it’s a very nice name.

It’s also a male name in meaning “[name]Jan[/name]'s son” in Swedish or something, I don’t like those on girls although [name]Madison[/name] I do like a times. I’ve been sucked in with [name]Madison[/name] I must admit.

There’s an actress named [name]Jensen[/name] [name]Buchanan[/name] (you can google her). She’s often called [name]Jens[/name], according to co-stars when she was on a show I used to watch. I always relate the name to her and I liked her, so I like the name.

This was my first thought too. I really with the -son names for girls would come to an end. And I love [name]Jensen[/name] on a boy, so I hope it doesn’t get given to too many girls
