Contemplating the name [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] right now. I’m loving the sound, and the looks of it. I am, however, not a real big fan of nicknames, and I feel [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] is doomed to become a [name_u]Jess[/name_u]/[name_u]Jessie[/name_u]. I do like the nickname [name_f]Essie[/name_f], if I had to go with one.
I prefer [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], but [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] isn’t too bad. Sadly I think she’d be doomed to become [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], unless you made it adamant that she was [name_f]Essie[/name_f]. Although, I do love the nickname [name_f]Jessa[/name_f].
[name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] is gorgeous name. [name_f]Love[/name_f] it as it is & wouldn’t shorten it myself but wait until she was older & she or her friends did that for themselves. Either that or select a nn early so you can nip the idea of [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] in the bud early.
My sister was friends with one growing up and I always thought it was a lovely name. She mostly went by her full name, but was sometimes called [name_f]Jessa[/name_f], which I prefer over [name_u]Jess[/name_u] or [name_u]Jessie[/name_u]. I’ve only met the one in my life. She would be 25 or so now for reference.
If I Had to pick [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f], I would use [name_m]Jamy[/name_m]/[name_u]Jamie[/name_u] as a nn. Or [name_u]Jay[/name_u]. I don’t really care for [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f], not my style. I do like [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f] though. nn options for [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]:

I could see [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] working with no nickname at all. I’ve known Jessicas that managed no nick at all - and I could see a [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] ending up with her full name specifically because of other Jessies around?
I like [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] but I don’t think it’s any more nickname proof.
[QUOTE][/QUOTE]You could just name her [name_f]Essie[/name_f]. Or make it ber middle name and call y that. Essamine or Essamyn are beautiful names as well.
I would love to say no the name is not doomed to have the nicknames of [name_u]Jess[/name_u] and [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] but here I sit.My name is in fact [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] and [name_u]Jess[/name_u] and [name_u]Jessie[/name_u] are only 2 nicknames I have been pinned with though it is still a beautiful name.
Eh, I like [name_f]Essie[/name_f] better as a name then [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]. If [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a name on it’s own so is [name_f]Essie[/name_f] by my measure. If there was a nickname for [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] I would probably go for [name_u]Jem[/name_u] or [name_u]Jemmy[/name_u] as the nickname. But I say follow your bliss most of all.
