I can’t quite tell if I like it or not – it seems mystical and has a rhythmic sound, but it also seems a little blunt. I prefer [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].
From your list, I like [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] and [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/[name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
It’s not bad! The first thing that came to mind when I heard it was [name_m]Aesop[/name_m], as in [name_m]Aesop[/name_m]'s fables. It’s not a bad association, just thought I should mention it. Nickname [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] is fun too!
@gia.berry: [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is a very nice name and I can understand why one would prefer it.
My grandfather, father, and brother are all Josephs. The thing is, I used [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] as a middle name for a son I lost. So I’m on board with using a [name_u]Jo[/name_u]- name or another form of the name but not [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] itself.
[name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m]
[name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] came to mind
@greyblue: I considered [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Finley[/name_u] but wasn’t sure about them. [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] is nice!
[name_m]Jessop[/name_m] is a fun name! I’m pleased to see someone considering it.
I’m 100% in for [name_u]Jess[/name_u] on a boy (as a full name as well as a nickname) so I do like it… although the “sop” ending puts me off just a tad. [name_m]Aesop[/name_m] did spring to my mind too.
It’s a tricky one to get a middle name to flow with, though! I think I like these best from your current ideas:
I love [name_u]Jess[/name_u] on a boy. I was thinking [name_u]Jess[/name_u] or [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] as a nickname should I ever actually use [name_m]Jessop[/name_m].
As for the “sop” ending, I did consider [name_m]Jessup[/name_m] but it just doesn’t have the same feel for me. Both it and the -op ending were used according to church records from that time so it could really go either way.
I’m glad you like some of my combos!
Of your suggestions I’m quite fond of [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Amias/name_m, [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u], [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Avery[/name_u].
I can’t believe I didn’t think of [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m]. It’s such a handsome combo.
I really like [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u]!
If you went with [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m], you could always call him JJ
@asherose: [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] is a nice enough name but I’m not exactly a fan of it. My other [name_u]Jo[/name_u]- names are [name_m]Jove[/name_m], [name_m]Jolyon[/name_m], [name_m]Joel[/name_m], and [name_m]Jonas[/name_m].
@flamingo: I’m so glad you like [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u]! JJ would be a cute nickname for a [name_m]Jessop[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m].
