Jewel and/or flower names?

What are your favourite jewel and/or flower names for girls?

I adore [name]Esmeralda[/name], it means emerald which is my birthstone  as well as [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Jade[/name].
I also like [name]Saffron[/name], [name]Rowena[/name], [name]Zinnia[/name], [name]Marigold[/name], [name]Bryony[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name].

[name]Fleur[/name] continues to be my favorite flower name. I also like [name]Flora[/name]. I like the idea of using [name]Flora[/name] as given name, [name]Fleur[/name] as frequent nn. I still adore [name]Rose[/name], despite popularity. I also would love to hear more of [name]Lilac[/name] and [name]Delphine[/name]. I like some of the more offbeat ideas, such as [name]Hyacinth[/name], [name]Magnolia[/name], [name]Leilani[/name], and [name]Zahara[/name]. In other news, I think [name]Daisy[/name] is dear but fading and [name]Bryony[/name] rocks it – if you are not me, and you can commit to all three syllables, because if you are like me and you shorten and tweak names, you are going to end up with a girl named [name]Brian[/name], which is not all that rockin’!

[name]Ruby[/name] sparkles – for others. I know it is very hot, very popular, but it is just not my name, no good reason! (As is so too often true with names!) [name]Pearl[/name] is spot-on, for me. [name]Opal[/name] is still the adorable grandmother in the funny pages (Pickles), but if I met a [name]Baby[/name] [name]Opal[/name], I’ll bet that would melt like early fall snow. [name]Crystal[/name] belongs in my fifth-grade class, which was a while ago! I know this started as a boys’ name, and I like the idea of it as a personal, not often used nn for a (boy) [name]Chris[/name], but other than that, it went out with that teased hair of the show [name]Dallas[/name]. [name]Diamond[/name], is, ironically, tacky, while [name]Garnet[/name] is interesting if you don’t have a personal history with a [name]Garnet[/name] who proved herself semi-precious. Not exactly a jewel, but [name]Silver[/name] has interesting possibilities as a unisex name… Maybe.

I also like [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name], but I probably wouldn’t use them because I hear them a lot.

[name]Daisy[/name] (love it, but it feels too insubstantial for me to use in real life)
[name]Briony[/name] (I prefer this spelling to the double-y)
[name]Lily[/name] (but a little too popular for me to use as a first, but this is one of my top picks for a middle)

For jewels, just [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]. [name]Jade[/name] is OK.

For flowers, I like [name]Zinnia[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Iris[/name], and [name]Juniper[/name]. [name]Magnolia[/name] is nice, but it’s a bit long to say. I like [name]Marigold[/name] as a middle.

I forgot favorites [name]Primrose[/name] and [name]Posy[/name]! I really like these names heard in [name]Britain[/name], seldom heard in the States, and wish they were more popular here.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned [name]Poppy[/name].

So I’ll be bold and say my favorite botanical name is my own - [name]Laura[/name]. A subtler nature them than most but I’ve always felt that part of the beauty and strength of the name come from it connection to laurel leaves. Since I won’t be using [name]Laura[/name] for my children my top choice would be [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Iris[/name].

I’m a real sucker for flower names! : P I like [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Marigold[/name] (though only as a middle, for some reason), [name]Iris[/name], [name]Viola[/name], and [name]Magnolia[/name]. I love Swedish [name]Malva[/name] as well, and the darling [name]Poppy[/name]! And secretly, I kind of like [name]Hortense[/name] too… I’m all over the place, lol!

Out of gem names, I really like [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Opal[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]. [name]Ivory[/name] too, even if it isn’t a gem. [name]Imagine[/name] two sisters names [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name] - could it get any cuter? Maybe too cute for some, but not for me

i like bryony and linnea…

My favorite flower names are:
[name]Rose[/name] (/[name]Rozlyn[/name])
[name]Lily[/name] (as a nickname for [name]Lillian[/name])

My favorite [name]Jewel[/name] names are:
[name]Crystal[/name] (though a lot of people see it as dated  )

Yay! I love flower and jewel names.

[name]Lys[/name] (French for lily)

[name]Sapphire[/name] (Sapphy)

I’m asuming this is for a girl.
