We are really stuck on a middle name for our soon-to-be baby [name_f]Mira[/name_f] (Mee-ra).
We’d like to choose a middle name to honor a deceased relative. We are thinking about [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] (after my grandma) but we’re Jewish and feel [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] is too much of a [name_m]Christian[/name_m] name. What do you think? We can also pick another middle name starting with letter K to honor her. Other ideas for middle names staring with K that are more culturally ambiguous or Jewish in origin?
Other middle name options honoring relatives could be:
What about Katriel? A legitimate Hebrew origin name that means “God is my crown” - honors both [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
I also really like [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Kelila[/name_f] …[name_f]Kelila[/name_f] means either “crown of laurel” -love the image of a little girl making crowns of leaves- or “perfect.” : ) That’s a great affirmation from mum & dad to start life with! I’d pronounce it keh-lye-luh (?)
[name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is lovely though. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is a “name grandchild” (!) of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], have you considered [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? Beautiful timeless classic, like [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but has that more direct Hebrew origin.
