Jillian's mom needs opinions on baby due in April!

Hello Everyone,

I found this website about two months ago and am completely loving it! You are all so wonderful! It’s so refreshing to know that other people obsess with names as much as I do!

My name is [name]Polly[/name] and it’s my first time posting. I am due in early [name]April[/name] and need some help with our list of names! DH is opinionated but doesn’t want to spend a lot of time ‘talking’ about names - that’s why I’m so happy to be a part of this fabulous group! I could talk about names all day! We do not know gender of this baby (love surprises!) and are working toward a sibling name to go nicely with our four year old daughter [name]Jillian[/name] [name]Mary[/name] (nn [name]Jilli[/name]). We chose the name [name]Jillian[/name] because…

  1. I have always loved it and still do
  2. It’s recognizable but not too common (#157 in 2009 and we don’t know anyone else with the name here in the midwest U.S.)
  3. We’re crazy about the nn [name]Jilli[/name]!

[name]Mary[/name] was chosen as her mn in honor of my mom (her fn).

Anyhow, we have a list of girls and boys names and would [name]LOVE[/name] some input from all of you who are so great about providing constructive, honest feedback. Again this time we are looking for a name that is recognizable but not too popular (e.g. Originally had [name]Harper[/name], [name]Jenna[/name] & [name]Zoe[/name] on my list, but removed them when I saw how they were increasing in popularity). Could you please comment and/or offer suggestions? I’m really having a hard time deciding what ‘goes with’ [name]Jillian[/name], and while I don’t want that to be the deciding factor, it’s pretty important to me. I guess I don’t even know how you’d ‘categorize’ the name [name]Jillian[/name] - I see it as feminine, whimsical and yet strong. WDYT?

So, here’s our list:

Girls:
[name]Naomi[/name] (have always loved this - it’s my grandmother’s mn - is it too old fashioned to go with [name]Jillian[/name]?)
[name]Cecelia[/name] nn CeeCee
[name]Mallory[/name] (possible nns?)
[name]Adeline[/name] nn [name]Addy[/name] or Leeny
[name]Juliette[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name] (love the aliteration, but too close to [name]Jilli[/name]?)
[name]Meredith[/name] (other nn besides [name]Meri[/name]? With my mom’s name being [name]Mary[/name] I don’t want this to get confusing but I totally love this name too!)
[name]Josephine[/name] (other nns besides [name]Josie[/name]? [name]LOVE[/name] it but best friends have a [name]Jocelyn[/name] who goes by [name]Josie[/name] & unfortunately I don’t really care for [name]Jo[/name] or [name]Effie[/name])
[name]Phoebe[/name] (nn?)

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name]
[name]Anderson[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name]
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - would love to honor my dad whose name is [name]William[/name] and goes by [name]Bill[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] - is this too trendy?
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name]

MNs we are considering for boy:
[name]Roger[/name] or [name]Rogers[/name] (family name)
[name]Baker[/name] (family name)
Open to other suggestions

Last name is one syllable and starts with L.

Sorry this ended up being so long. Thanks so much for any help you can provide… I really trust your opinions and appreciate the time you take in your responses!

Best!
[name]Polly[/name]

Ooh, fun!

My twin sister had [name]Jillian[/name] on her list. Others were [name]Cynthia[/name], [name]Nora[/name], and [name]Nadia[/name]. They used [name]Nora[/name]. Ironically, my sister is [name]Meredith[/name], which is on your list. She is [name]Meredith[/name] [name]Adele[/name]. They also liked [name]Naomi[/name] but their ln is [name]Campbell[/name]… [name]Meredith[/name] has no nicknames, we just call her [name]Meredith[/name] (sometimes [name]Mimi[/name] or M&M, but that’s just when we’re goofing around).

So I would suggest [name]Meredith[/name] [name]Adeline[/name] L___ (though the initials spell [name]MAL[/name] which means “bad” in Spanish)

If you don’t mind having two J kids, then both [name]Juliette[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] are lovely. I prefer [name]Josephine[/name], but it seems to be creeping up in popularity - it gets mentioned a lot here. I [name]LOVE[/name] it though. It’s my #1 choice for mn right now.

[name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Naomi[/name] sound nice together. Same with [name]Cecelia[/name] ([name]Cecilia[/name]?) and [name]Phoebe[/name].
[name]Mallory[/name] and [name]Adeline[/name] get a little tongue-twisty when paired with [name]Jillian[/name].

Ok and boys.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Wilson[/name] and that it would honor your dad. Not sure how you feel about the Ls in [name]Will[/name] running into the L that begins your last name? [name]Anderson[/name] and [name]Sullivan[/name] are both nice (same L issue with [name]Sully[/name]?). [name]Anderson[/name] could also be [name]Anders[/name], I love that nn. [name]Sawyer[/name] does seem to be getting popular (for boys and girls?). I am not a fan of [name]Josiah[/name], it has a completely different feel than the others on your list.

[name]Both[/name] mn boy options would work well with anything.

[name]Welcome[/name] and congrats! I have always loved the name [name]Jillian[/name], too.

Here are my opinions on your list –
[name]Naomi[/name] – I adore this name! I don’t think it is too old fashioned at all…a lot of people are using it again (it might be a top 100 name, or at least it is close).
[name]Cecelia[/name] nn CeeCee – love it, and I think it is cute with [name]Jillian[/name].
[name]Mallory[/name] – This was kind of dated to me for a while, but it is sounding fresh and spunky again for me. You could call her [name]Lory[/name]? [name]Jilli[/name] and [name]Lory[/name] are absolutely adorable together.
[name]Adeline[/name] nn [name]Addy[/name] or Leeny – not a fan. I would hate for my daughter to be called [name]Addy[/name] and have people assume I named her [name]Addison[/name]
[name]Juliette[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name] (love the aliteration, but too close to [name]Jilli[/name]?) – too close to [name]Jilli[/name], especially if her friends ever call her [name]Julie[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name] – love it! Classic and solid. I don’t know of any other nicknames besides Mer or Mery.
[name]Josephine[/name] – I love this name! I know a [name]Josephine[/name] who just goes by [name]Jo[/name], and she is a total doll! I have heard other people use [name]FiFi[/name] as a nickname, too.
[name]Phoebe[/name] – spunky and fun

My favorite names with [name]Jillian[/name] would be [name]Meredith[/name], [name]Mallory[/name] ([name]Lory[/name]) and [name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Jo[/name])
I love the combo [name]Mallory[/name] [name]Josephine[/name].

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name] – love it
[name]Anderson[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name] – don’t care for the ‘son’ – I like [name]Andrew[/name], [name]Andreas[/name], and [name]Anders[/name] much better
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - cute, but [name]Will[/name] is quite popular
[name]Sawyer[/name] - is this too trendy? YES. It also is being used more on girls lately, I have noticed.
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name] – love this, my favorite on your list. [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Roger[/name] and [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Baker[/name] both sound nice (I prefer [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Roger[/name])

Girls:
[name]Naomi[/name] - I think this fits fine with [name]Jillian[/name] and I like it a lot
[name]Cecelia[/name] nn CeeCee - I like [name]Cecelia[/name] but find CeeCee babyish. Would you like the name just as much if she grew out of Ceecee? I like [name]Celia[/name] too (could still be called CeeCee)
[name]Mallory[/name] (possible nns?) - I like [name]Mallory[/name] a lot but find nn’s hard. PP suggestion [name]Lory[/name] and that could work but if the nn doesn’t come from the beginning sound of a name I always wonder if it will catch on. I guess it works for [name]Liam[/name] though!
[name]Adeline[/name] nn [name]Addy[/name] or Leeny - ok (I like the prn with the long I - is that how you’re saying it?)
[name]Juliette[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name] - too close to [name]Jillian[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name] - love [name]Meredith[/name] and it fits great with [name]Jillian[/name]. Not strong for nn’s though you’re right!
[name]Josephine[/name] - my favorite nn is [name]Posey[/name]. [name]Josephine[/name] makes [name]Jillian[/name] seem a little more serious if you know what I mean. But with [name]Posey[/name] I like how you’re not too matchy with the J initials but still retain the connection between the sisters.
[name]Phoebe[/name] - love [name]Phoebe[/name] and it shares the feminine, whimsical and strong vibe you feel with [name]Jillian[/name].

Favorites: [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Posey[/name], [name]Meredith[/name], [name]Celia[/name]

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name] - seems out of step with [name]Jillian[/name]. Could maybe see [name]Jonah[/name] though.
[name]Anderson[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name] - prefer [name]Anders[/name]
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - I think any of the [name]Will[/name] names are too close to [name]Jillian[/name] - you’d end up with [name]Jill[/name] and [name]Will[/name]! I would use [name]William[/name] as a middle to honor your dad.
[name]Sawyer[/name] - I know people are using this for girls now but I think it’s so handsome for boys
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name] - I like [name]Sullivan[/name] but I really don’t like [name]Sully[/name], and [name]Jilly[/name] and [name]Sully[/name] seem matchy anyway.

I don’t love any of the boys here. I would suggest:
[name]Justin[/name]
[name]Campbell[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Holden[/name]
[name]Grady[/name]
[name]Wesley[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Polly[/name], welcome to Namberry. Here are my honest opinions regarding the names on your lists. All the best!
[name]Naomi[/name] - A lovely Biblical gem that should be chosen more often than it is. I like it.
[name]Cecelia[/name] - Prefer it spelled [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Cecily[/name] is lovely too!
[name]Mallory[/name] - Very dated
[name]Adeline[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this name but prefer [name]Adele[/name] as a nn
[name]Juliette[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] name but too close to [name]Jillian[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name] - Oh this is a wonderful name for [name]Jillian[/name]'s sister
[name]Josephine[/name] - I love this name but I like children to have their own unique initial. If you have more children, you may have to pick another "J " name.
[name]Phoebe[/name] - [name]Phoebe[/name] is a spunky choice that goes well with [name]Jillian[/name]. No nn is required.
Faves: [name]Meredith[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Naomi[/name] or [name]Adeline[/name]

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name] - I love this classic name from the Bible but not with [name]Jillian[/name]
[name]Anderson[/name] - OK
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - Ok in the the middle spot to honour your relative
[name]Sawyer[/name] - It’s trendy and increasing in popularity but it would be a good choice for [name]Jillian[/name]'s brother.
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name] - Too rhymey with [name]Jillian[/name]
Faves: Only [name]Sawyer[/name] stands out as a good “fit” with [name]Jillian[/name]. Here are other suggestions for you to consider.

[name]Jillian[/name] and brother…
[name]Garrett[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Marcus[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Dexter[/name]
[name]Gulliver[/name] i/o [name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name]
[name]Merritt[/name]
[name]Lennox[/name] (if if goes well with your one syllable “L” surname)
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Roscoe[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Raleigh[/name]
[name]Rufus[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Harrison[/name]
[name]Lincoln[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] nn [name]Theo[/name]

I actually like the name [name]Juliette[/name] best out of all of your choices and I don’t think it’s too close to her sister Julilian. [name]Julian[/name] would be too close, but I think [name]Juliette[/name] and [name]Jullian[/name] sound really cute together.

haha, just realized this post is from '09!! oops!

It’s a current post - Feb 9th, 2011!

[name]Naomi[/name] - I don’t think [name]Naomi[/name] is too old-fashioned to go with [name]Jillian[/name]. I think it’s coming back again with a character with that name on 90210.
[name]Cecelia[/name] nn CeeCee - This is cute.
[name]Mallory[/name] (possible nns?) - I’m not a fan of [name]Mallory[/name]. It strikes me as very 80’s… but maybe I’m wrong.
[name]Adeline[/name] nn [name]Addy[/name] or Leeny - This is cute, but as someone else mention - [name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Adeline[/name] sounds a bit tongue twister-y.
[name]Juliette[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name] - I don’t think this is too close to [name]Jilli[/name]. [name]Juliette[/name] is one of my all-time favorite names!
[name]Meredith[/name] - I like [name]Meredith[/name] nn Mer. I can’t think of any others. Mer might still be too close to [name]Mary[/name] though.
[name]Josephine[/name] - I’ve never been a fan of [name]Josephine[/name], but I love love love the potential nn [name]Posey[/name].
[name]Phoebe[/name] (nn?) - eh. It’s alright. I can’t think of any nns.
Faves: [name]Cecelia[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Posey[/name].

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name] - Not my type.
[name]Anderson[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name] - Very cute.
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - This is one of my favorites. Have you thought about the nn [name]Wills[/name] to break it up with the “L” last name?
[name]Sawyer[/name] - I’m not sure if this is too trendy, but I don’t think it fits the style of [name]Jillian[/name].
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name] - This is cute too. I put it in the same boat as [name]Anderson[/name], but with a cuter nn.
Faves: [name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Wills[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name].

oooh, good! i guess i read the date super quick, haha

Berries - Thank you so much for all of the wonderful feedback! You’re the best!

After much thought, here’s where we are:

Girls-
[name]Naomi[/name] - Still in the top spot for me, starting to consider mns - open to suggestions…
[name]Cecelia[/name] - Actually prefer spelling [name]Cecilia[/name] as suggested - thanks! - still considering it, although DH thinks it will be getting too popular
[name]Mallory[/name] - Eliminating [name]Mallory[/name], as I had wondered if it was too dated, and many of you confirmed that. Plus, nn [name]Lory[/name] (which I hadn’t thought of and actually do like) doesn’t work for family reasons
[name]Adeline[/name] - Definitely not planning to use ‘[name]Addy[/name]’ as a nn - realized how incredibly popular it is in our DD’s preschool! Still considering nn [name]Adele[/name] - like prn [name]AD[/name]-eh-line, so Leeny probably wouldn’t work as nn either
[name]Juliette[/name]- hmmm… - mixed reviews on this! That’s kind of how I feel, too - some days I love it and some days I think it’s too close to [name]Jilli[/name]! Not quite ready to cross it off the list yet… not planning to have more kids to worry about the J initial, but you never know!
[name]Meredith[/name] - Definitely still on the short list - loving its combo with [name]Jillian[/name] - nn Mer may work (thanks @chantillylace) - and so funny that @grey56 has a twin [name]Meredith[/name] [name]Adele[/name] who considered [name]Jillian[/name] & [name]Naomi[/name] for names!
[name]Josephine[/name] - Eliminating, since one of the reasons I love it is for the adorable nn [name]Josie[/name] which we can’t use - feel like I would be compromising and that’s not necessary when there are so many beautiful names out there!
[name]Phoebe[/name] - Still loving it - DH thinks he may have difficulty getting over the ‘Friends’ association since he never like the show! @gwensmom - appreciate the thoughts about [name]Phoebe[/name] being whimsical, feminine and strong.

Boys-
[name]Josiah[/name] - Eliminating, since many of you said it just doesn’t fit w/ [name]Jillian[/name], and after consideration, I agree. Thanks! Still love the name, though!
[name]Anderson[/name] - Still the frontrunner for DH - not my fav but definitely still on the list (unfortunately DH doesn’t like [name]Anders[/name] or [name]Andreas[/name], and [name]Andrew[/name] is too popular in our area)
[name]Wilson[/name] - @chantillylace - [name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Wills[/name] to break things up with L surname - thanks! So cute! This may be my #1
[name]Sawyer[/name] - DH loves as a mn (he said, “If it were up to me, we’d call him [name]Anderson[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] and be done!!” Ha!!) I think I’m ready to eliminate - didn’t realize it was starting to be used for girls
[name]Sullivan[/name] - still loving it - esp. w/ nn [name]Sully[/name] - although will think about [name]Jilli[/name] & [name]Sully[/name] and whether that might drive me nuts!
[name]Theodore[/name] - nn [name]Theo[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! Thanks for the suggestion, @mischa!
Loved many of the other suggestions ([name]Justin[/name], [name]Campbell[/name], [name]Garrett[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Harrison[/name]) but either vetoed by DH or can’t use because of names of family/friends

In conclusion,
[name]Naomi[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], & [name]Phoebe[/name] are tops for Girls;
[name]Wilson[/name], [name]Anderson[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] & [name]Theodore[/name] are on the shortlist for Boys.

Thanks SO MUCH to all of you! Keep the comments coming & have a great day - thanks for reading!

  • [name]Polly[/name]

First, I love both [name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Mary[/name], great choice. Also, I love your name! [name]Polly[/name] is so cute and unusual.

Girls:
[name]Naomi[/name] - I love this name, and I also think it goes great with [name]Jillian[/name].
[name]Cecelia[/name] nn CeeCee - [name]Cecelia[/name] and Cece aren’t really my kind of thing.
[name]Mallory[/name] - I don’t care for this that much. It makes me think of bad things (mal), unluckiness, and ducks.
[name]Adeline[/name] - I like [name]Adeline[/name] and [name]Jillian[/name] as well.
[name]Juliette[/name] - I love [name]Juliet[/name], and I don’t mind alliteration, but [name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] are just too similar. [name]Both[/name] star with J, three syllables, prominent L sounds. I think this should go.
[name]Meredith[/name] - I’ve never cared for this much.
[name]Josephine[/name] - There’s [name]Posy[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name] - I like this. Doesn’t need a nickname, but you could go with [name]Bee[/name]/[name]Bea[/name]/Be/B

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name] - This is ok, but I don’t love it.
[name]Anderson[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name] - I don’t really like this or [name]Wilson[/name] for the same reason. Using a surname name to get to a nickname for a traditional name just feels like trying too hard to me. [name]Andrew[/name] and [name]William[/name] are so much nicer to me, and go better with [name]Jillian[/name].
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - Since your dad goes by [name]Bill[/name], you could name your son [name]William[/name] after him and use [name]Will[/name] as the nickname. Then they’d be different still and you wouldn’t have an issue. [name]Will[/name] and [name]Jill[/name] isn’t ideal though.
[name]Sawyer[/name] - Pretty trendy and popular, also for some reason a lot of people like it for girls. Could easily be th next [name]Harper[/name], [name]Avery[/name], [name]Reagan[/name] or [name]Kennedy[/name].
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name] - My favorite on your list. Probably my favorite surname name ever. It’s just so cute.

[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Baker[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Roger[/name], or even [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]William[/name] all work. I actually like [name]William[/name] as the middle name if you have a boy because it fits so well with [name]Mary[/name].

Oh, I just saw you added [name]Theodore[/name]. I love [name]Theodore[/name], especially since I have one myself. He’s a [name]Teddy[/name], but I love [name]Theo[/name] almost as much as I love [name]Teddy[/name]. I like [name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] a lot. My favorites for boys would be [name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]. For girls it’s [name]Naomi[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name].

@triceratops -

Was just getting ready to write back and say how much I love YOUR kids names! I have seen your posts and admired the names for a while now! [name]Theodore[/name] & [name]Katherine[/name] - [name]Teddy[/name] and [name]Kitty[/name] - absolute perfection! DH likes [name]Theo[/name] more, so that made it to our list, and already have a niece [name]Katherine[/name] - just had to compliment you on your style! And thanks for the comments on my name - HATED it as a kid, but have grown to appreciate the unique-ness of it as an adult. Plus, everyone says it ‘fits’ me so I might as well embrace it! Saw the name [name]Polly[/name] on a recent poster’s list and had to smile… every kid gets teased, so NBD, but I was always [name]Pollyanna[/name], [name]Polly[/name] Purebred, [name]Polly[/name]-wanna-cracker?, polygon, [name]Polly[/name]-wolly-doodle-all-the-day, etc. I just started telling everyone my mn was [name]Esther[/name], which usually got a laugh and changed the conversation.

Anyhow, thanks for the thoughts about [name]Wilson[/name] & [name]Anderson[/name] ‘trying’ too hard - definitely don’t want that! My sister used [name]William[/name] for her son’s mn ([name]Gabriel[/name] [name]William[/name]) so I was trying to be creative - but don’t want it to get crazy. Maybe we’ll lean more toward [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Roger[/name] - it’s been getting more consideration from DH and still honors family.

LOVING the suggestion of [name]Bee[/name] as a nn for [name]Phoebe[/name]! Wonder why I didn’t think of that!!

This makes me love [name]Phoebe[/name] even more for you!!

For boys, I don’t think [name]Wilson[/name] is trying to hard. I think it’s very handsome. My main hesitation is still the rhyming with [name]Jilli[/name]. But I love how it has family meaning for you. Would definitely use [name]Wilson[/name] or [name]William[/name] in the middle (even if a nephew has [name]William[/name] already in the middle).

I just wanted to add that I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Theo[/name]!

Thanks, @gwensmom. I could see potential problems with [name]Wilson[/name] (or [name]William[/name]) as people think of [name]Willy[/name] & [name]Jilli[/name]. When we considered nns for [name]Jillian[/name], we worried about people calling her [name]Jill[/name], but just had to tell some people we prefer [name]Jilli[/name]… just depends on whether or not we want to deal with that. There’s always something to ‘deal’ with!

Loving [name]Phoebe[/name] nn [name]Bee[/name] - can’t wait to talk with DH!

@chantillylace - yes, I am loving [name]Theo[/name], too. DH and I will have lots to talk about this weekend. (Oh, he’s going to be so sick of me talking about names!)

First of all - I’m really liking your daughter’s name! Hmmm… I’ll have to ask my husband about possibly adding [name]Jillian[/name] to our list.

My thoughts on your revised list…
~[name]Cecilia[/name] - Personally I prefer [name]Cecily[/name], but [name]Cecilia[/name] is also very beautiful, and sounds lovely with [name]Jillian[/name]! My favorite nn is Ceci, pron. seh-see.
~[name]Adeline[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this, but does the L sound at the end run into the begining L sound of your last name? [name]Adele[/name] is a great nn!
~[name]Naomi[/name] - Not my style, but very pretty. Can’t think of any nn’s though - except maybe [name]Mimi[/name], pron. mee-mee?
~[name]Juliette[/name] - Beautiful, but personally I think it’s too close to [name]Jillian[/name]. :frowning:
~[name]Meredith[/name] - pretty
~[name]Phoebe[/name] - Cute and spunky! I like the suggestion of nn [name]Bee[/name].

~[name]Wilson[/name] - Oooo, I [name]LOVE[/name] this!! It’s on our list too! I prefer the nn Wils, and think it goes better with [name]Jilli[/name], and also solves the problem of the L at the end of [name]Will[/name] and the L at the beginning of your last name running together.
~[name]Anderson[/name] - Very handsome name. I like the nn [name]Anders[/name]!
~[name]Sawyer[/name] - I think of this as all boy, and think it’s a great name! No nn’s though…
~[name]Sullivan[/name] - If you love this but aren’t sure you want a [name]Jilli[/name] and [name]Sully[/name] - how about using the nn [name]Van[/name] instead of [name]Sully[/name]?
~[name]Theodore[/name] - I like the nn [name]Theo[/name] better than the actual name…

My favorites for a sister would be, [name]Jillian[/name] & [name]Cecilia[/name] ([name]Jilli[/name] & Ceci), or [name]Jillian[/name] & [name]Adeline[/name] ([name]Jilli[/name] & [name]Adele[/name]). For a brother I love [name]Jillian[/name] & [name]Wilson[/name] ([name]Jilli[/name] & [name]Wills[/name])!
I would also REALLY love [name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Cecily[/name]!

You really have some great choices, and I think whatever name you choose will be perfect for [name]Jillian[/name]'s little brother or sister!

[name]Hi[/name]! My favorites to go with [name]Jillian[/name] are:

[name]Phoebe[/name] (love the nn [name]Bee[/name])
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]

[name]Theodore[/name] (love [name]Theo[/name])

I haven’t read through all the posts yet, but here is my opinion/
:
[name]Naomi[/name] – [name]Love[/name] [name]Naomi[/name], but it does feel a bit old fashioned with [name]Jillian[/name]. Fits great with [name]Mary[/name] though, so maybe a middle?
[name]Cecelia[/name] nn CeeCee – [name]Love[/name] love [name]Cecelia[/name], and feel like it matches [name]Jillian[/name] very well, but just don’t like CeeCee at all. It feels like a big pile of fluff to me, but a lot of people like it, so I guess it’s just me.
[name]Mallory[/name] – [name]Mallory[/name] is adorable, and goes great with [name]Jillian[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it! [name]Mallory[/name] [name]Naomi[/name] is cute.
[name]Adeline[/name] nn [name]Addy[/name] or Leeny – [name]Adeline[/name] and both nicks seem very old fashioned with [name]Jillian[/name]. I do like it, and [name]Addy[/name].
[name]Juliette[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name] – I’m not a big fan of alliteration. We have a family here with [name]Jillian[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name], and [name]Jordan[/name], which is a lot!
[name]Meredith[/name] – Pretty name, but doesn’t hit me the way [name]Mallory[/name] does.
[name]Josephine[/name] – I’ve never really liked this one.
[name]Phoebe[/name] (nn?) – Cute, and goes great with [name]Jillian[/name]. The only nick I can think of is [name]Fifi[/name], which I don’t like. Or Phoebes, but you don’t want to call her that a lot.

Boys:
[name]Josiah[/name] – One of my favorites of all time, but don’t like the alliteration with [name]Jillian[/name].
[name]Anderson[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name] – This is kinda neat. Not sure if I like it or not, but it’s got a cool vibe to it.
[name]Wilson[/name] nn [name]Will[/name] - I like the idea of honoring your dad, but I don’t like [name]Wilson[/name].
[name]Sawyer[/name] - It does border on trendy but it’s so stinking cute!! [name]Jillian[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name] are awesome together.
[name]Sullivan[/name] nn [name]Sully[/name] – Cute!!
