What does everyone think of the combo [name]Johanna[/name] [name]Maria[/name]? They’re both family names… my middle name is [name]Johanna[/name] after my great-grandmother, and my mom’s middle name is [name]Maria[/name] after my grandmother, so the name would be able to honor four generations of women in my family! I’m really in love with the idea, but not 100% sure it has the best flow? Also what do you think of [name]Johanna[/name] as a first name? I do like it, but haven’t honestly given it much consideration before… Which names from my signature would make good siblings? Thanks for your thoughts!
[name]Johanna[/name] [name]Maria[/name] is very pretty, but not exactly “sparkly”, not the type of name that I would expect to get compliments from everyone. That said, it’s a strong and sturdy name that will wear well. However, it does seem very [name]German[/name] to me especially since I say [name]Johanna[/name] yo-hah-nah. I could see [name]Alice[/name] or [name]Georgia[/name] as sisters, but I would be more inclined to use something that’s at least kind of [name]German[/name], like [name]Anneliese[/name] or [name]Sofie[/name].
I love the name [name]Johanna[/name], I am not crazy about [name]Maria[/name] though. Any other family names you like? I think [name]Johanna[/name] needs a name that does not end in an ‘a’ to balance it out. [name]Johanna[/name] [name]Marie[/name] would work.
I think some of the names in your signature would work well:
[name]Johanna[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name] [name]Iris[/name]-- my favorite
[name]Johanna[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
Okay, as soon as I posted that I started to change my mind. [name]Johanna[/name] [name]Maria[/name] does have a pretty, sing-songy quality to it.
I think it is good! Here in Portugal, [name]Joana[/name] [name]Maria[/name] is not an uncommon combo.
[name]Do[/name] you say [name]Yo[/name]-hah-nah or [name]Jo[/name]-han-nah (like in [name]Joe[/name]) or Ju-hah-nah (as in [name]Julia[/name])?
(For me it’s weird to see [name]Johanna[/name] spelt like that, but that’s definitely cultural… :D)
I love johanna! And [name]Maria[/name] works as a mn, especially since it has family ties.
