I just recently started liking the name [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]. And upon searching through my baby book, discovered it is actually my great great grandmother’s name. I’m always concerned w/ finding a name that will sound good w/ our two girls, Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. Does [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] sound ok w/ those names or is it too different? Want honest opinions. Really just brainstorming ideas right now as only in first trimester and don’t know if boy/girl
I think it’s a very strong names with lots of NN possibilities! It goes great with your other daughter’s names too.

I really like [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], but I think it’s a bit dated, which is why it’s not on my long list. Reminds me of the [name_m]Bob[/name_m] [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] song Visions of [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], which is one of my very favourite [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] songs.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]! I don’t think it has that same Gaelic/Scottish feel as Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], but it is lovely, and stylistically, I think it is fine with your two girls. It’s beautiful. I would love to see you use it.

Anyway, I think [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] fits. Its a lovely name. Whenever I see it I always think of the song “[name_f]Johanna[/name_f]” from [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u] [name_m]Todd[/name_m].

I knew a [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]. She was a very creative person, an artist by profession. I have a cousin named [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]. My grandfather was [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. I think that covers everything!!!
I like the name but I don’t love it. It is different in style to Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and I don’t like the shared “na” endings between [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]. Maybe you could use it as a mn for its family meaning. If you can’t find any other Celtic name that you love, I think family association trumps those issues. I can imagine a name like [name_f]Ailis[/name_f], [name_f]Roisin[/name_f], [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Niamh[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] or Esmé (used in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f]) with your girls.
