Johnstone

My boyfriend recently started a job with Ubisoft (so proud!) and found the name Johnstone in his contact list. Johnstone is his given name, not first and last smooshed together. [name]Just[/name] thought it was interesting.

Johnstone sounds like a maiden name used as a first.

I am certainly not a fan! I love [name]John[/name] alone and have a dear brother [name]Jonathan[/name] too, but Johnstone is crazy imo. (I am not liking the stone) remids me of tombstone if you want me to be very honest.

As a last name, this one has a bit of significance to me. When I was young, not knowing too many names, I had a tendency to invent names for fictional characters. I’d never do that now, but I didn’t have Internet access then to check if a name was real. A number weren’t real; many of those I could probably tell at the time (that is, I probably wasn’t trying to be realistic). Last names I’d never heard when I came up with them that turned out to be real included Narton, Vink (Dutch), Rendik (appears to be Swedish; also Indonesian first name) and Johnstone.

But that significance doesn’t mean that I’d consider any of those as a first name (I don’t think…)
