Still not planning to add to our family, just musings!
I was, admittedly, watching the show “Amish Mafia” today - a bit of a guilty pleasure - and came across the name Jolin. I was immediately intrigued! It pronounced more like “[name]Joel[/name]-in” (rather than “[name]Joe[/name]-lynn”). I’m finding myself really really liking it, especially since I’ve always liked [name]Joel[/name] but found it a bit too short. Any thoughts?
I haven’t come across Jolin before. If you like it, then go for it! Have you considered a middle name yet? The only thing I would say is when I look at the name, my instinct is to read it as [name]Joe[/name]-lin, rather than [name]Joel[/name]-in (like [name]Angelina[/name] [name]Jo[/name]-lie, rather than Jol-ie) That might just be me but it would be great to get the views of some others.
Hmm, I definitely think that pronunciation issue is valid. I hadn’t really thought of any middle names yet since I was still just getting a feel for the name alone – but I’m kind of liking the feel of Jolin [name]Rafferty[/name]! Or Jolin [name]August[/name].
I like it…it’s different but not too out there. You could always spell it Jolen, to kind of take away that [name]Jo[/name]“lyn” pronunciation issue…although it does kind of change it a bit, makes it more [name]Joe[/name]-len than [name]Joel[/name]-in.
