Jonah too close to Gemma?

We are having our second baby in [name]March[/name]. Our daughter is named [name]Gemma[/name] and her nn is something that doesn’t sound like her name at all, starts with a different letter, and we are likely to call her [name]Gem[/name] or [name]Gemmy[/name] rather than [name]Gemma[/name].

We both really like the name [name]Jonah[/name] if it’s a boy but are worried that it might either be too cutesy or too confusing in our house. What do you think? Too matchy?

I do think it’s too matchy, sorry!

If you like [name]Jonah[/name], how about:
[name]Joshua[/name]
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Samson[/name]
[name]Eli[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Gideon[/name]

Good luck!

I don’t really like sib sets that have the same sound, it seems dated (although I really like the name [name]Jonah[/name]!). I like to think more about the feeling of the name to determine what would be a good sib set.
[name]Logan[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Shane[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Silas[/name] and Gemaa
[name]Callum[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name] and [name]Gema[/name]

Can I say maybe? I think you should keep looking for other names you like because they are very close- the same number of syllables with the same first and last sounds. But if it’s the only name you like and can agree on, it’s not that bad. But definitely look for alternatives!
