Jonas Barnaby or Jonas Bartleby for our (4 day old - NEEDS a name!) baby boy??

We have a 4 day old baby boy, still with no name! His 16 month old sister is [name]Frances[/name] [name]Cecily[/name] and he will be [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] or [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Bartleby[/name]. We each like a different option best and would love opinions on which is best and why. Which fits best with [name]Frances[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]? Thanks!

Congrats on your son! I prefer [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] (a serious fn with a spunky mn). [name]Bartleby[/name] sounds like a cartoon character.

I prefer [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] as well.

[name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name]

Thanks berries! We are hoping to finalize his name today. Which name seems to “fit” better with [name]Frances[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]?

For those of you who like [name]Barnaby[/name] - what do you dislike about [name]Bartleby[/name]?

I think [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] flows better. It also fits better with sister’s name.

[name]Bartleby[/name] sounds like a cartoon villain, to me. It’s hard to describe, but [name]Barnaby[/name] just sounds more respectable.

Definitely [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] that is a great name.

I agree with the others [name]Bartelby[/name] sounds cartoonish and very old man. I see a character dressed in black with a long pointy nose tiptoeing around in the night.

“[name]Bartleby[/name], the Scrivener” is such a sad tale, to me. I prefer [name]Barnaby[/name] and I think it fits perfectly with his sister’s name.

I don’t think one necessarily goes better with your daughter’s name since they sound very similar, but I agree with pps that [name]Bartleby[/name] sounds too cartoony. Plus when I say [name]Bartleby[/name], it feels like a mouthful and I feel like I should be saying [name]Barnaby[/name] instead, if that makes any sense. [name]Barnaby[/name] goes perfectly with [name]Jonas[/name] in my opinion. [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] is just too handsome and distinguished for words. Wow. Gorgeous!

I agree with the others. [name]Barnaby[/name] is already pretty whimsical. [name]Bartleby[/name] is over the top silly. It does indeed sound like a cartoon villain.

[name]Bartleby[/name] makes me think of the [name]Melville[/name] story and it is not a story full of hope and new life. Go with [name]Barnaby[/name].

I prefer [name]Barnaby[/name]. It sounds clunky but cool whereas [name]Bartleby[/name] sounds made up.

I prefer [name]Barnaby[/name] too for the same reasons noted above.

Another vote for [name]Barnaby[/name].
[name]Bartleby[/name] makes me think of “[name]Bartleby[/name] the Scrivner”

I have always been fond of [name]Barnaby[/name] and I think it fits [name]Cecily[/name] wonderfully.

While I don’t hate [name]Bartleby[/name], it makes me think of a sad person from the literature connection in “[name]Bartleby[/name] the Scrivner”.

[name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] definitely

[name]Jonas[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name] is lovely and flows a lot better than [name]Jonas[/name] [name]Bartleby[/name].

[name]Bartleby[/name] just sounds sort of goofy. [name]Barnaby[/name] is a little better. You just dont want to give him a middle name he will be embarrassed with. I really like [name]Jonas[/name] though!
