Jones as a first name?

Could [name_m]Jones[/name_m] work as a first name or is it better used as a mIddle?

I think it works better in the middle as it’s a very common last name.

I agree w/ lumen, its too common to work as a first name
What about [name_m]Jonas[/name_m]? [name_m]John[/name_m]? [name_u]Jan[/name_u]?

I like [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] or [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] better. Good luck!

One of the most adorable little boys I know is names [name_m]Jones[/name_m] and we call him [name_m]Jonesy[/name_m]. He has big hazel eyes and curly brown hair. The name suits him well. I believe it is actually his middle name, but its what he goes by.

I would only use it in the middle.

Is it a family name? If so, I’d say it’s fine as a first name. Otherwise, I’d leave it in the middle.

Totally works as a first name!

My friends named their baby [name_m]Jones[/name_m] which I dislike, but they call him [name_u]Jo[/name_u] or [name_m]Jonesy[/name_m] mostly. I’m on the fence and prefer it in the middle.

Thanks for the responses. It gives me more to consider. Yes, it’s a family name. I like the possibility of using it as middle name even if that’s what we call him, or the nickname [name_u]Jo[/name_u] since that is a family name also. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear there are some cute little boys named [name_m]Jones[/name_m] running around.
