Joseph!

[name]Just[/name] a new (and old!) crush. Quite possibly inspired by the fact that I just watched Premium [name]Rush[/name] with my little sister and I may or may not have a minor crush on [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Gordon[/name]-Levitt.

I had been crushing on it before we ever saw the movie, though, so I think that just cemented it. Thoughts on [name]Joseph[/name]? I do love the nn [name]Joe[/name], and I don’t mind [name]Joey[/name], but are their more–unexpected, I guess, is the word?–nns for it? I’m not terribly fond of [name]Joss[/name], and while Seph intrigues me, I’m not sure how usable it is? I’m quite happy with just [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Joe[/name], but I figured I’d see if there was something else I was missing.

Also, combo ideas? So far I’ve tossed around [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] (maybe [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] [name]Booker[/name] or [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]), [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Cyprian[/name] (love the sort of underhanded reference to [name]Barnabas[/name], the apostle), [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Joseph[/name] [“L”-something] Brave. The LB middle initials would be for my grandfather, whose full name was L. B.

Does [name]Joseph[/name] fit with the names in my signature?

Thanks, ladies!

I think [name]Joseph[/name] fits right in with your names. It’s biblical like [name]Caleb[/name], [name]Asher[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], and [name]Boaz[/name]. The nn [name]Joe[/name] gives it a crispness like [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Jack[/name]. I see [name]Joseph[/name] as a brother to [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], or [name]Hannah[/name] ( any of them really, but I like [name]Joseph[/name] with these best).

I like the [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] combo

You have such lovely names, [name]Ashley[/name]! I hope you have enough children to use them all!

Haha, I don’t think I’ll have 25+ kids, lol, but thanks, anyway! I wish I could name 25+ kids, though.

Really? That surprises me, because the youngest [name]Joseph[/name] I’ve known/met is at least in middle school, probably even high school by now! But on the other hand, I looked it up, and [name]Joseph[/name] ranks number 11 in my state (where are all these Josephs?!), which is 9 points higher than the national average. Hmm. I’m not sure it bothers me–[name]Olivia[/name] ranks in the top 5, and I’d still use that in a heartbeat. Besides, [name]Joseph[/name]'s so classic, it’s not like if I used it his name would be dated to 2013 (or, more likely 2018 or 2020).

Any other combo ideas? I really like the idea of [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] or [name]Joseph[/name] ____ Brave–ideally I’d like to keep one or both of them, although I’m not sure [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] Brave really works…

I love [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] [name]Booker[/name]!

I absolutely adore [name]Joseph[/name], so strong and handsome.

I really like [name]Joseph[/name]. It makes me imagine a “strong and silent” type of man, masculine but gentle. I don’t care for any of the nicknames, though, [name]Joseph[/name] is too nice not to use on its own!

As the momma of a [name]Josef[/name] ( yes we spelled it with and F) I have to say i [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] the name! (lol)

My little guys is 2.5 and we have only ever met 2 young Josephs… all the others are old men which I love! I like his little old man name!

Most of the time he is [name]Joe[/name] but he does have a TON of other nicknames that have developed in odd ways… We call him Pep or Pepino… Pep becasue in Spanish ( the language we speak at home) [name]Pepe[/name] is the nick name for [name]Jose[/name] and since he is a 3rd generation [name]Pepe[/name] we call him Pep… Pepino means cucumber in spanish but it developed due to the "pep’

He NEVER gets called [name]Joey[/name] but often gerts called Joej or Joegi ( almost like george/y withour the R), my dad calls him [name]Josephus[/name] ( [name]Joe[/name]-see-fus)
Most of the time he calls him self [name]Joe[/name] or Jofis ( he can’t quite say it when talking quickly) But we think it’s pretty cute!

I get compliments on the name all the time! In my area is a fairly ignored classic only reaching about #250-300 in popularity!

I like [name]Joseph[/name]. Not a fan of any of the NN options I can think of, so if I ever had a [name]Joseph[/name] I’d probably never use a NN myself.

Really? [name]Joseph[/name]'s that uncommon in [name]Canada[/name]? Or [name]Josef[/name]'s that uncommon in [name]Canada[/name]? That really surprises me, it doesn’t really get outside the top 50 in the US. I checked each state last night (I was bored, haha), and I think only one or two states had [name]Joseph[/name] outside its top 50, but it still ranked like 54 or 57 or something. I think [name]Josephus[/name] is kind of fun. The reference to the historian and all. I think if I ever used it, he’d probably be mainly [name]Joseph[/name]/[name]Joe[/name], but it might be fun to use [name]Josephus[/name] occasionally!

Any “B” names to go with [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name]? Or an “L” name to go with [name]Joseph[/name] Brave? I’m really loving both of those lately, and I’m not sure [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Lev[/name] [name]Booker[/name] and [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Leander[/name] Brave are “it”…

The same thing happened to me! I have a more than minor crush on JGL haha and he has made me love the name even more! It is my grandfather’s name, and I used to only consider it for a middle, but thanks to him, I love it as a first, too. I don’t know any young Josephs either. I don’t really have any new nn suggestions. I like [name]Joey[/name] for a little kid and [name]Joe[/name] for an adult. I never liked the nn [name]Joe[/name] until I heard him use it for himself!

I love [name]Joseph[/name] and the nicknames [name]Joe[/name] and [name]Joey[/name]. Feels like a great name with lots of options. It would be totally on my list, but DH has vetoed it. Sigh!

I adore [name]Joseph[/name], it’s on my list. Handsome, classic and for me the obvious Catholic element is amazing
