Josephine and Eleanor?

Not expecting, just planning ahead!

What do you think of Josephine and Eleanor as sisters? Josephine would be called Josie. I’m thinking the nickname for Eleanor would be Ella, since Josie and Ellie might be too similar sounding?

The middle names I’m thinking are:

Josephine Claire
Eleanor Rose

Josephine would be named to honor my mom, Josette, and my Grandma’s name is Judy-Claire.

Eleanor has no family connections, but the main character in my most beloved childhood book was Ella (Eleanor), and Rose comes from my Mother-in-Law Rosalia.

Forgot to say…two other girl names we like are Charlotte, nn Charlie and Frances, nn Frankie.

Feel free to ignore this next part, it’s just a bonus question.

I know this is the girl names forum, but if you have any suggestions for boys that match this style I would really appreciate it. I struggle with boys names for some reason.

Our dad’s Names are:
William, my Dad who passed away, Stephen, my Step-Dad who raised me,
Nick, my Father-in-Law

Honoring the grandparents is not a requirement, just throwing them out there for inspiration. I used to love Liam to honor my dad, but it’s too popular now sadly.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are gorgeous sister names very classic and elegant. Personally I don’t think [name_u]Josie[/name_u] & [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] are too similar also they are just nicknames so it’s not (for me) a major concern if you did want to use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. Still [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a gorgeous nickname and is my daughter’s second middle name. Such a gorgeous sibling set I also think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are so dreamy :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

As for boys I actually think [name_m]William[/name_m] would be a lovely brother name. [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] could be a lovely combination. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Stephen[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_m]William[/name_m] could be gorgeous!

Thank you so much, I am loving a lot of those boy names! Definitely going to play around with some of those and see if the crush sticks. I think I edited my post right around the time you replied, so you may not have seen this next part. I forgot to add that other girl names we are considering are Frances, nn Frankie, and Charlotte, nn Charlie. This would be in place of Eleanor because Josephine is the number one favorite at the moment. Those two sort of have family ties as well. My great grandmother was Frances, and my MIL Rosalia goes by Lia…it’s kind of a stretch but the lie of Charlie could sort of honor MIL.

No I didn’t see that!

Personally I’m a massive fan of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. But I think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] & [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is also lovely. I’m not sure on [name_f]Frances[/name_f] it’s a beautiful name but I feel [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] due to being so long in length needs a name of similar length if that makes sense. Maybe [name_f]Frances[/name_f] could be a great middle name for either [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] especially as it’s an honour name (unsure if [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is) I think honour names are always a winner. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like some of the boy options even though I do love [name_m]William[/name_m] as a first name.

I ADORE [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and Eleanor!! So posh and darling! I do suggest the spelling [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f] not just because it’s my name (hehe) but something that bothers me in names is when the last letter of a name is the same as the first letter of another name. If [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] was written, say, as a username it would look like eleanorrose and the “orro” looks funny to me for some reason. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u] has been one of my favorite names for a long time and, of course, so is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! I’m not a fan of [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname just because [name_f]Ella[/name_f] seems like it’s a full name on it’s own. [name_u]Josie[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] aren’t too close but you can always use just plain [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! [name_u]Josie[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is just as cute :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are beautiful together-perfectly matched. I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] would work with them too.

Some boys names

[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilson[/name_m]
[name_m]Stewart[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Phillip[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are amazing for sisters!
Some boy names you might like: [name_m]Charles[/name_m], [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_u]Oliver[/name_u]

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would have been my daughter’s name of we didn’t already have a niece with the name.
Interestingly, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are on my list for my unborn baby girl.
I love the names you’ve picked!
