What alternatives would you suggest?

*Do you pronounce it like Jo-zee or Jo-see?

TIA

Hello! [name_f]My[/name_f] best friend is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u], so I only have positive associations with the name. I don’t personally think it sounds too nicknamey, but others might, so if it’s used for a child, be prepared for “Oh what’s it short for?” questions.

I say it [name_u]Jo[/name_u]-see!

It’s cute but mature

I like [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. I prefer it as a [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nickname, but it works well as a standalone.

I pronounce it [name_u]Jo[/name_u]-see.

I think [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is spunky, cute, and works just fine on its own. I pronounce it like [name_u]Jo[/name_u]-see. I think [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is commonly used as a nn for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Maybe it could be short for [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]? But that seems like kind of a stretch.

I don’t think it’s too nicknamey! I know a [name_u]Josie[/name_u], and she is often asked if it is short for something, but after hearing it as a full name for someone it doesn’t seem too short at all. I pronounce it somewhere between “see” and “zee” but it may sound like more of a “zee”?
