We’ve finally narrowed our list of names down to [name]Judah[/name] or [name]Isaac[/name]. We really like both, though I am a little worried [name]Isaac[/name] is growing too popular. Any thoughts?
I prefer [name]Judah[/name], mostly because I like the sound of it better but also because I think the nickname [name]Jude[/name] is better than any potential nicknames for [name]Isaac[/name].
[name]Judah[/name] is so cool. I wish I could use it, but dh said no go.
[name]Judah[/name] is a good one
If you’re looking for something unpopular [name]Judah[/name] is the way to go
Definitely [name]Isaac[/name]! [name]Judah[/name] sounds too Biblical.
[name]Isaac[/name] all the way! I like [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Jonah[/name] and [name]Jonas[/name] all better then [name]Judah[/name] but adore [name]Isaac[/name].
I love Isaac. Although it might be growing in popularity, it’s a strong and classic name.
I like both but [name]Judah[/name] is more of a statement and [name]Isaac[/name] is more of an unassailable classic.
I like [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Ike[/name] as nicknames.
[name]Both[/name] are wonderful, but I’d choose [name]Judah[/name] from a popularity perspective. Slightly prefer the sound of [name]Isaac[/name]. That hard “c” at the end is to die for.
I love [name]Judah[/name] - it was on our list if we had a boy. My husband would not agree to it, unfortunately! I’m definitely seeing some Isaacs listed on the classroom doors at my school, so I think it is becoming popular. Also, how do both names go with your surname? I had a friend several years ago who gave one of her children a name ending in k, and their surname started with a hard c. She was endlessly correcting people that his name was —k and their surname was C----, that his name was not — C----.
What about [name]Judah[/name] [name]Isaac[/name]? Then you can use both.
I prefer the strong and masculine [name]Isaac[/name]. I like [name]Jude[/name] to [name]Judah[/name]. Unless you have a bunch of little Isaacs running around your neck of the woods, I wouldn’t worry about popularity. [name]Isaac[/name] was No# 35 in the US in 2010 (that’s 9,508 boys). [name]Judah[/name] reminds me too much of the Biblical turncoat [name]Judas[/name] Iscariot.
I love [name]Judah[/name]! If I didn’t have a friend with a little [name]Jude[/name] I would totally have it on my list
[name]Isaac[/name] for me. I don’t think of it as particularly popular, and it’s beautiful written and spoken. [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Newton[/name], [name]Isak[/name] Dinesen, and of course the Biblical [name]Isaac[/name] - all pretty great.
I much prefer [name]Isaac[/name]. I chose this name for my second born, it’s such a strong and unique name.
[name]Judah[/name] reminds me of [name]Judas[/name] which I don’t like.
oh, and I don’t know one other Isaac besides my son…
I like both.
I don’t think you can really say “[name]Isaac[/name] is getting too popular”. It’s been used for thousands of years. Sure occasionally it gets a tad more popular, but it’s hardly a striking upswing.
If I had to choose one I’d probably pick [name]Judah[/name], because I like [name]Jude[/name] better than [name]Zac[/name]
Besides [name]Zac[/name], [name]Isaac[/name] nns can include: [name]Ike[/name], [name]Izzy[/name], Iz, [name]Ziggy[/name], Iggy or even [name]Zeke[/name] (though I prefer that for Ezekial or alone)
[name]Both[/name] are gaining in popularity. [name]Judah[/name] is a little more hot right now (along with [name]Jude[/name]), but [name]Isaac[/name] is still a steady classic Bible name. [name]Just[/name] name wise, I really like [name]Isaac[/name]. Strong sound but with a cheery meaning.
