Jude and Anouk?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] go well together? I adore both names, but worry that they’re not a great pair. They vary widely in popularity and seem to be slightly different styles to me. There aren’t many boys names that I truly love, so while there are lots of names I think go better with [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], I’m having a hard time letting [name_u]Jude[/name_u] go. In fact, I’d probably prefer to let go of [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] considering there are a lot more girls’ names that I love. I’d really rather not, though. Would appreciate your thoughts!

To me they are 2 very different styles
I would expect [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]'s brother to have an unusual and elegant name and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] strikes me as a cool and familiar kind of name
If you really love those names you could make it work, though

I think they’re fine together. I love both names too (we have very similar taste!) Both are short, simple and spunky. I don’t think the difference in popularity is a huge issue.

They are definitely very different names. But you are naming humans not a product line. Sibsets can be cute and all, but these kids will spend most of their lives as independent adults not as a “set” of little kids. You love what you love!

Thanks for the feedback!

@katinka, I agree that they’re both short and spunky, which makes me think they still work together fine.

@faycosta, I agree with you on this one … I’m generally against matchy/themey sibsets in general, but I do often like to have some kind of sense of ‘fit’ if ykwim? For example, I would say [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] ‘fit’ better than [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]. Still, it’s reassuring to hear your perspective!

@emmievis, your comment echoes my concerns, so it’s good to know I’m not obsessing over nothing!

I think they are fine. [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is a lot more uncommon but I think they are both short & sweet.
