I know, I know. I have been posting a lot about the fact that I am expecting all girl quadruplets(4). These are our final choices for names that we need to narrow down. Also we need help with finding good middle names. Feedback would be really helpful!
Edit- The names I have chosen (and the ones I really, really have grown to like) are:
Adelaide Joy (Addie)
Ophelia Rose (Ollie)
Elodie Harper(Didi)
Octavia Violet(Via)
Although now I’m second guessing…maybe I should swith Ophelia out for Cordelia?
I really do love the name Cordelia…
Alex/Alexandra is fine, however I feel it’s kind of common at least where live. Having a common name isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I’m just more into unique names. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] are names that with grow well with the child. [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] is timeless and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] is a great nickname. If you are in love with this name than go for it! [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t let my opinion stop you!!
My cousin is named Älëxᴀndrïᴀ. She goes by Älëx because, from what she told us, nobody at her school can say her full name correctly. I would say use Alexandra or Alexa with a nickname of Alex. This way she will have options in the future.
Alexandra([name_u]Alex[/name_u]): Really cute!
[name_u]Kendall[/name_u]: Not a fan, probably because of the [name_m]Jenner[/name_m]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]: lovely, but if you were to go with [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] too, I think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] would be nice
[name_f]Madalyn[/name_f]: A bit popular for me and overused, and I prefer the spelling [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Paige[/name_f]: no strong feelings at all
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u]: this is odd but it makes me think of the song ‘Fall on me’
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]: This is cute, and [name_u]Rey[/name_u] is a cute and unusual nickname, I’ll always like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] more though
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]: I feel like this is an authors surname, Kath [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] I think, but the [name_u]Cass[/name_u] NN for it is really cute, you might like [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], or [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]: bit frilly for me, and [name_f]Addy[/name_f] anything is overused
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]: A lovely name, timeless
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]: No strong feelings
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u], especially with the nicknames Octy, [name_f]Tavia[/name_f], or [name_f]Via[/name_f].
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]: hmmm don’t really like it but it’s not that bad
[name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]: [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t like really, it’s just too much like [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] which is way past it’s prime
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]: I love this, and love the unusual nickname [name_f]Ella[/name_f], because I think [name_f]Beth[/name_f], and [name_f]Liz[/name_f] are a bit meh.
[name_u]Mallory[/name_u]: Makes me think of [name_f]Enid[/name_f] Blyton’s [name_u]Mallory[/name_u] [name_m]Towers[/name_m] series, but [name_u]Mal[/name_u] is a lovely nickname.
[name_f]Happy[/name_f] name choosing!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this feedback means to me! I am due in just about 6 weeks and my husband and I were really struggling on names. So once again thank you for your help, it has been really stressful around here and I needed some good advice!
Do you have a particular style or sound of name you really like? Because that can make searches easier, eg. names with vowels, If you liked x name you’ll like, 3 letter name, names that mean
I totally understand, and you don’t want them to be matchy matchy either. It’s a bit like naming characters, which I have a lot more experience with. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a broad category you like? Like flowers or Victorians names or placenames or something?
I do like the idea of flower names I just feel that [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], ect. are just to common. I do however kind of like the name [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], based off [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m] but tbh i really don’t know
Adelaide, [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is my favourite set. They’re all very pretty names, the vowels makes them sound great together, but they also are all distinct enough. Some of the names in the other sets seem a little “trendy”.
[name_m]How[/name_m] many syllables are in your surname? If its longer, I would suggest middle names with one or two syllables.
May I suggest,
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
[name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Sefarina[/name_f]
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]
[name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u]
Zinna
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
These are a bit long but
I love the name [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! As of right now, they are [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] (still don’t know if i like it), [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]!
Not exactly sure yet. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] will probably be [name_f]Addie[/name_f] since I can’t find anything better and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] will definitley be [name_f]Elle[/name_f]! Struggling on [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] though, because I know [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] will probs be [name_f]Via[/name_f] or [name_f]Tavia[/name_f]
How about Phelie? [name_f]Tavia[/name_f] or [name_f]Via[/name_f] are both adorable! Also for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], have you considered, [name_f]Lady[/name_f], [name_f]Dee[/name_f], or something like that?
Phelie’s ok, not big on it though I guess i’ll just have to see when she’s born to give her a NN. Also not big on [name_f]Lady[/name_f] but I do like [name_f]Dee[/name_f]
