[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the name [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is slightly dated or no?
No, I think it feels kind of modern, actually.
100% dated to me. Like [name_f]Emma[/name_f].
I think it depends on where you live. I don’t think it was ever popular enough here in the UK to be dated to any particular decade. I can picture it on a woman or girl of any age. [name_u]Julie[/name_u] on the other hand is a different story.
I wouldn’t think so! [name_m]Just[/name_m] by hearing the name, I cannot pinpoint a certain age or decade born in.
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] is such a classic. Simple and beautiful.
[name_f]Julianna[/name_f], [name_f]Julissa[/name_f], [name_f]Julienne[/name_f]… those all sound more dated and put-offish.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f], or [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], that’s not as off-putting to me, but not as classy as the simple [name_f]Julia[/name_f].
[name_u]Julie[/name_u] is more dated, yes.
I do find it dated since I have an Aunt [name_u]Julie[/name_u], and quite a few of my friend’s moms are [name_u]Julie[/name_u]/[name_f]Julia[/name_f]/[name_u]Julianne[/name_u]. My 28 year old friend [name_f]Julia[/name_f] hates her name and goes by her middle…
I do tend to lump [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] into that perception I have, but it’s at least slightly less dated.
I definitely agree that [name_u]Julie[/name_u] is dated!
I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f], the only reason it’s not on my list is that I used it for a character. (I think it was technically Ju’lia, but generally pronounced the same.)
It feels dated to me. My ex-girlfriend was named [name_f]Julia[/name_f], but she went by the more modern nickname of [name_u]Jae[/name_u].
