Julian and Adrienne?? Good combo or too similar?

We are team green and I just love the name [name_m]Julian[/name_m] for a boy right now. However, older sister is [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]. Part of me loves the two together and part of me wonders, are they too similar? What do u think??? Go for it or keep looking for a different name? Boy names are so hard for me

It would be too close for me unless you used nicknames regularly.

Sorry, I think their sounds are too similar to each other.

I don’t think they are too close, but it depends on the accent.

Why don’t you do a test where you call out [name_m]Julien[/name_m], if [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] comes by mistake they are too close. If not its fine. Because the only reason it isn’t practical to have two children with similar names is because they might get mixed up right? So if mix ups aren’t a problem than there isn’t an issue. [name_u]Love[/name_u] your choices!

I think [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] and [name_m]Julien[/name_m] are fine for siblings. My name and my sister’s are both two syllables, have the same ending sound and the stress is on the same syllable, it’s never been a problem.

Our parents certainly don’t get our names mixed up! [name_f]Nor[/name_f] does anyone who’s a regular part of our lives- it’s mostly people who don’t know us that well (who I imagine might mix them up however different), and even that only occasionally.

It wouldn’t be great, but it wouldn’t be the worst. There’s plenty of people who give their twins rhyming names, for example… If you really love [name_m]Julian[/name_m], then I think it’s worth using, especially if you use a nicknames like [name_u]Jules[/name_u] or [name_u]Jude[/name_u].

They would make me sing them in the same rhythm but you’re likely to have nicknames anysy, and I always think unless it’s some cruel or ridiculous combo, it’s better to have two single names you love and will be good for the kids to say to the world!

While for some people the two are quite similar, I think there is a nice flow in [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] together? It’s definitely a lovely combination definitely!

If you are concerned about the phonetic similarities though, maybe [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]? It’s not that dissimilar to [name_m]Julian[/name_m], and could make a nice alternative?

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] & [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] are too close.

Actually our second favorite boy name is [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! I love it but at the moment like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] better, however [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is still definitely on the table. And we actually call our daughter Adri (Ay-dree) 85% of the time so Adri and [name_m]Julian[/name_m]? Adri and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]? Adri and [name_u]Jules[/name_u]? Hmmm…i actually like all of the combos?

I would consider [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Julius[/name_m], [name_u]Jules[/name_u], and [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] as alternatives and maybe go with one of those if you love them as much as [name_m]Julian[/name_m], but [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is really a great name (as is [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f]), and if it’s your favorite I think it’s fine for a brother to [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f].

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] is my favourite boy’s name at the moment. I don’t see a problem with [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] at all. If you love it, you should definitely go for it. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is another favourite of mine and would make a great sibling for [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] if you decided to go with that. Good luck!

I love [name_m]Julian[/name_m], and would not let [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] stop me. People often name their kids with the same first letter, so the same ending sound is possible. They are very different in that one begins with a vowel and the other a consonant.
