I have a son, 14 months, who is named [name_u]Julian[/name_u] [name_u]Mars[/name_u]. I am pregnant with another boy and we just cannot agree on a name for him. The only name my husband and I both love is [name_u]Jude[/name_u], but I worry that [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are too similar sounding, especially for how close the boys will be in age.
Neither of us like very traditional names like [name_u]William[/name_u], [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], [name_u]Henry[/name_u], etc. but we also donât like names that are too trendy such as [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], [name_u]Ezra[/name_u], or any of the [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] or Haydenâs.

If Julian ever goes by Jules I would think itâs a little close. Both one syllable and the âjuâ sound. But plenty of families have children whose names are similar, and thatâs just up to your preferenceđ
Is Miles too trendy for you? I just loveeee Julian and Miles together! Sage gives me a similar vibe to Jude. Maybe Shay? TruettâŚ.? Crew?

For me, [name_u]Julian[/name_u] & [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are too close. I do think that you could use [name_u]Jude[/name_u] as a middle name. I also think that maybe you could use [name_u]Judah[/name_u] - itâs still close but the extra syllable helps to distinguish it a little bit more from [name_u]Julian[/name_u].

I think [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are too close. [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and [name_u]Judah[/name_u] works better in my opinion. I second the suggestion of [name_u]Miles[/name_u] and would add:
[name_u]Julian[/name_u] & [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_u]Julian[/name_u] & [name_m]Stellan[/name_m]

Definitely too close. If itâs any use, I feel like [name_m]Judd[/name_m] is just about workable, given itâs an uh not an ooh? [name_u]Or[/name_u] you could probably get away with putting [name_u]Jude[/name_u] in the middle spotâŚ

For me theyâd be too close to use together, however, I wouldnât think twice about it when hearing them on someone elseâs kids.
Yes, theyâre a bit matchy but still distinct enough, that is unless youâd use nicknames for both.

I think theyâre fine for brothers. To me theyâre different enough (3 syllables vs 1, softer sounding âianâ versus the harder sounding âdâ).
If I were to meet a pair of brothers named [name_u]Julian[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] I wouldnât think twice.

Personally I donât think they are too close , if it is THE name. It sounds like you have some reservations, and I definitely think there are alternatives that may be up your alley !!
