I’m loving this lately. My only problem with it is that my kids will most likely grow up in [name_u]America[/name_u], and i have a hard time picturing an American boy named [name_m]Julian[/name_m]. The name seems to require an English accent for me.
What’s wrong with being American and being called [name_m]Julian[/name_m]? I can’t say it is as English-sounding as, say, [name_m]Fergus[/name_m]. [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is a nice name, I don’t like it much but it’s fine, just not my style.
I like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] too, and I think it’d work fine on an American boy. (A generation or so ago when it was less used it might have been a bit of a standout, but as high as the name now ranks I don’t see any major issues.)
I live in [name_u]America[/name_u] and it works well here. I have met a [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and a [name_m]Julius[/name_m], and DH’s name is [name_u]Jules[/name_u].
I’m in [name_u]America[/name_u] and I know several Julians. I think I know of 3. In the US, in 2011, it was ranked 49, so there are plenty of little American Julians running all over the place. I absolutely love it and think you should use it.
