Julie or something more?

10 days to go… Ahh! Still having a hard time getting my husband to crack down on the name discussion (I don’t think he can get away with the “we still have time” bit much longer. Horribly frustrating). I’ve always liked the name [name_u]Julie[/name_u], just on its own. I have come to like the longer forms as well. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] are a little formal for my taste, but I very much like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]. For some reason in surprised to find that many [name_f]Julia[/name_f]'s go by [name_u]Julie[/name_u] for short- I always thought most were one or the other. I’m deciding whether to consider this name and if so, should [name_u]Julie[/name_u] be the name on its own? I feel that [name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_f]Brenna[/name_f] and [name_u]Julie[/name_u] make the best sibset (my other children) but I’m tempted to use a fuller version. I THINK I prefer [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] to [name_f]Julia[/name_f], because I find it more unexpected, but wonder if it’s too sophisticated next to
[name_u]Mason[/name_u] and [name_f]Brenna[/name_f]? For that matter, is [name_f]Julia[/name_f]?

I’m really not a huge fan of [name_u]Julie[/name_u] by itself, but I adore [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_u]Julianne[/name_u].

Other suggestions:
[name_f]Julissa[/name_f]/Julese
[name_f]July[/name_f] (maybe)
[name_f]Julianita[/name_f]
[name_f]Julietta[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helped!

[name_u]Julie[/name_u] feels dated to me, whereas [name_f]Julia[/name_f] feels timeless. I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is a good match with [name_u]Mason[/name_u] and [name_f]Brenna[/name_f], and it’s pretty.

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Julia[/name_f], but not a fan of [name_u]Julie[/name_u].

[name_u]Julianne[/name_u] is my favorite of your options, but after typing out all the names next to each other, I do think it has a little different style than [name_u]Mason[/name_u] and [name_f]Brenna[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or [name_u]Julie[/name_u] would work well, and are both beautiful.
Good luck!

Idk, man, I’m still pushing for [name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_f]Brenna[/name_f], and [name_f]Amy[/name_f] :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t like [name_u]Julie[/name_u], and it doesn’t have the same feel as [name_u]Mason[/name_u] or [name_f]Brenna[/name_f] to me. I prefer [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] but all of those names are sort of blah and dull after so many incarnations of it. The only one I still like is [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]

is rich and abundant and substantial.

[name_u]Julie[/name_u] is still in the 1970’s, frosting her long blonde hair.

And [name_f]Julia[/name_f] can give you [name_u]Julie[/name_u], but [name_u]Julie[/name_u] can’t grow to encompass the nickname [name_f]Julia[/name_f].

Hey, [name_f]Julia[/name_f] of 14 years here! I would totally recommend my name, it’s super easy to grow up with, no teasing, nicknames have grown with me (Juju [name_m]Bean[/name_m] as a baby and toddler to JuJu and [name_u]Jules[/name_u] as a kid and just [name_u]Jules[/name_u] now (except my daddy, who still class me JuJu) and I know it will work perfectly as I grow older too. Only problems have been those adults who insist my names something else (usually [name_u]Julie[/name_u], but I’ve gotten [name_u]Julianne[/name_u], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Julianna[/name_f], Julese, etc as well). It’s an east correction, no fuss and not a huge deal. I do know a few others but have never had to be [name_f]Julia[/name_f] B. So it’s been a good name to have and I love it! I’d go with it!
