Well, after MUCH deliberation, we finally agreed on a name for our baby girl. Magdalenne [name]Sanne[/name] arrived and remained nameless for about 5 hours. DH and I went back and forth on a few other names but this was the only one we both loved. The main issue was the spelling/pronunciation. I wanted to spell it [name]Magdalene[/name], but DH didn’t want people mispronouncing it [name]Magda[/name]-leen, so finally I gave in to his version of spelling the name. I don’t like made-up spellings, but I do think the name is pretty. I’ve had a few days of worry over it, but finally I just decided to embrace it. People do ask us often how to pronounce it, but it’s not too big of a deal - and most people comment on how pretty it is. I actually think [name]Sanne[/name] poses more confusion than Magdalenne, and that was a favorite of mine for years now - so I am the one for her to blame for that. (If it would have been up to just me, that probably would have been her first name! This is kind of a theme with our daughters – [name]Juliette[/name]'s middle name, No”lle, was another of my faves.)
All in all, we’re delighted with our little girl and her lovely one-of-a-kind name. I especially love hearing [name]Juliette[/name] say it – so cute!
