Juniper and Susannah? Juni and Sukey?

I’m still puzzling over a possible sister name for [name]Juniper[/name]. [name]Susannah[/name] is a family name and we had it set aside for a middle name, but i’m starting to wonder if it could be a first name. I really like it and i [name]LOVE[/name] nn. [name]Sukey[/name]. What do you think of it with [name]Juniper[/name]? Are they too different in style? [name]Susannah[/name] is so much more familiar that [name]Juniper[/name] (especially here in the uk) and i’m thinking that it might be a mismatch? Thoughts much appreciated!

Oh, and i forgot to say that i’m on the fence about whether its [name]Susannah[/name] or [name]Susanna[/name]

I think it’s nice. I personally would use it for a middle as it seems sort of dated to me, but if you love it- use it!

The nicknames are close- but I think that’s ok.

If it were me I’d go with another subtle nature like: [name]Wren[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] or [name]Sage[/name] [name]Susannah[/name]

Sorry I don’t like [name]Sukey[/name] much, it sounds a bit like sooky as in sulky to me. I love [name]Susannah[/name] though. I think I would like something like Ottillie for a sister named [name]Juniper[/name]. nn’s of [name]Tilly[/name] and [name]Juni[/name].

I love [name]Sukey[/name] as a nickname for [name]Susannah[/name], though I prefer it spelled [name]Suki[/name], as the standalone Japanese name is. [name]Both[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] have great old fashioned charms with their names.

[name]Sukey[/name] looks like sucky. I’d go with [name]Zuzu[/name]. [name]Zuzu[/name] and [name]Juni[/name] aren’t too close.

[name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Susanna[/name] are very pretty together.

I don’t like kooky, sucky [name]Sukie[/name] at all.

And I think [name]Susanna[/name] is a lot more homespun pioneer girl than quirky nature-inspired [name]Juniper[/name].

Our daughter’s name is [name]Susanna[/name] and we love it! We also considered [name]Juniper[/name]. I think they are adorable together, both whimsical and unique to today’s standards. I also agree with the recommendation for [name]Zuzu[/name] and [name]Juni[/name]. We call our little one [name]Zuzu[/name]!

I think both names are adorable!!! ANd I just love [name]Susannah[/name], especially with the nickname [name]Sukey[/name]. I spell it [name]Sookie[/name] though, so it doesn’t look like sucky.

I think it’s a lovely name with a beautiful meaning. I think it could work.

You could always do a version like [name]Suzette[/name] or [name]Suzanna[/name] if you want something a tad more interesting.

Thanks everyone! I love [name]Suky[/name] so its interesting that its not getting a lot of love…we don’t really use the word “sucky” in [name]Britain[/name] so i never really made the connection. I like the spelling [name]Sookie[/name] though and i absolutely adore [name]Zuzu[/name]!

I do like [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Susanna[/name] together, i think they both have an old west charm to them. I get a bit worried that my little [name]Juniper[/name] is going to wish that she had a more usual name- its unheard of here in the uk as a name and its not a word that you’d hear often even in other contexts. [name]Susanna/name isn’t particularly popular ( number 989 i think!) but it is more familiar, and i don’t want [name]Juniper[/name] to feel like she got landed with the kooky name ! Is that crazy? [name]Don[/name]'t get me wrong, i love [name]Juniper[/name]'s name and it really suits her, but it does make choosing a sister name more difficult!

I love Ottillie but our name starts with an O and is a bit rhymey, plus i have a niece called [name]Tilly[/name] (although its short for [name]Matilda[/name]). But i love [name]Juniper[/name] and Ottillie together! That is exactly the sort of pairing i’m looking for.

For a nn, I like [name]Zsa[/name] [name]Zsa[/name] for [name]Susannah[/name]. I really like [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name].

Although, they are different in style, [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Susanna[/name] would work fine as sisters. If there is any competitiveness between them regarding their names, at least both are 3-syllable (7-letter) names. I adore the name [name]Susanna[/name]. I used to be on the fence regarding [name]Susannah[/name] vs. [name]Susanna[/name], but after much though, I developed a preference for [name]Susanna[/name] with no h. The h is not necessary. Also, the spelling in the Bible is [name]Susanna[/name], and the understated look without the h is more appealing to me. I would love to name a daughter [name]Susanna[/name] (or [name]Susannah[/name]). You are so lucky! I hope you use it. Congratulations!

I do like [name]Zsa[/name] [name]Zsa[/name], [name]Zuzu[/name] and [name]Susie[/name] more than [name]Sukey[/name], but I don’t hate or even dislike it. [name]Susannah[/name] is great, and I think it goes great with [name]Juniper[/name] (though I do have a thing for names with a u in them).

I like [name]Susannah[/name]! [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] works well together
