Juno, Marlowe or something else?

Hello!

Currently pregnant with baby number 3, have 10 weeks to go and still no closer to finding ‘the one’! I’d be very grateful for opinions / suggestions based on our lists :slight_smile:

We have extremely similar taste, I love most of your names! I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] and all of your options for baby #3 apart from [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], [name_f]Frieda[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f], and I by no means dislike those, they just appeal to me less than the others (although [name_f]Greta[/name_f] has been growing on me a lot lately).

I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and had the latter three on my shortlist for my daughter, whom I’m due to give birth to any day now actually. Unfortunately my partner vetoed them!

I also adore [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and have the first two on my list for a future child ([name_m]Otto[/name_m] would be in there too but it’s my nephew’s name).

Of the options you have, it would be a very hard choice for me and I really don’t know which I’d pick for a girl - I really do love [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] to similar degrees. And I think they all go nicely with [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], as does [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]. So basically I’m no help…

For a boy, again, I’m not sure. All suit [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], although in my mind perhaps [name_m]Milo[/name_m] the most, followed by [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and then [name_u]Kit[/name_u]. [name_m]Milo[/name_m] just feels the most stylistically similar to me although [name_m]Otto[/name_m] fits pretty fantastically too.

Also, if [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is your favourite then I say go for it. Although in saying that it’s difficult letting go of popularity if it is something that bothers you. I had [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] at the top of my list but ultimately gave it up as I kept seeing it everywhere and it kept jumping up in the list of most popular names here (Australia). I guess you just need to weigh up how much you love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] with how much it bothers you that you know a few (and how close you are to the people who have little Margots). Also, just remember that it may be popular in your circle but not otherwise.

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] & [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] are so cute! I love how you spelled [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], btw. It looks much nicer than [name_m]Casper[/name_m] in my opinion.
Anyway! Here are my thoughts for #3:

Girls:

[name_f]Juno[/name_f]-I really like this. It’s spunky, whimsical w/a bit of a bohemian sound. I do really prefer it as a nn though. [name_f]Junia[/name_f] or [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] nn [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is adorable.

[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]-I don’t know…this seems sort of trendy. It’s not even popular, just the style of it. I guess it’s not too bad.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f]-I want to like this, but just can’t get into it. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] flowers are lovely; this just has a screechy sound to it. Plus, it sounds a little bit like [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. :eek:

[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]-This is a little bit too associated w/the movie for me. It’s not a bad association; just a little cheesy.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]-I love it! As you can see from my signature, it’s one of my absolute favorites. It’s so sweet and down to earth, but also sophisticated enough for an adult. And I’m pretty obsessed w/the nn [name_f]Gerty[/name_f].

[name_f]Frieda[/name_f]-This isn’t my favorite, but I don’t mind it. It’s different, & has a similar feel as [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. I do know a little girl named this (family is from Germany), & it’s kind of cute.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] (probably my favourite but know of 4 under the age of 3!)-Yeah…this is getting sort of popular. It’s nice, but has lost its sparkle to me since I hear it so much.
