So I love the name [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and was doing a bit of looking around and came across [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_u]Temple[/name_u] (she’s an actress that was in St. Trinians). I saw her and her siblings names and realised they are the exact names I’d pick for my children. [name_f]Juno[/name_f] would be my first choice for a girl, my first male choice would be [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and my second would be [name_m]Felix[/name_m]!! Has anyone else encountered eerily similar name choice sibsets among celebrities?
[name_m]Johnny[/name_m] Depp’s children, [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I have [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] on my short list and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (not fond of hyphens) on my long list.
I have a [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and I adore [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] too
There are quite a few like this for me - I guess it stands to reason that people who like the same name tend to like other names in common as well. One that immediately springs to mind is Coldplay drummer [name_m]Will[/name_m] Champion, who has twins named [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Rex[/name_u]. Before I discovered this, [name_u]Rex[/name_u] was my top choice for #2 if I had a boy; now I’m not sure if that would be weird…
That’s weird haha, last week I was doing the same thing after watching St. Trinians and fell in love with her name and her brothers’! [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] and [name_m]Brad[/name_m] [name_m]Pitt[/name_m]'s children’s names are exactly the style I’d go for, but I can’t work out if it’s because of them that I love the names or not… Most likely, I adore [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]! [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] and [name_m]Knox[/name_m] are favourite names of mine, with some of their middles ([name_f]Marcheline[/name_f] and [name_m]Leon[/name_m]) being favourites too!
Yeah these are all gorgeous names I also think [name_m]Ben[/name_m] Affleck and [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] [name_m]Garner[/name_m] made really good choices with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
We must have very similar naming styles then! What would you consider yours as?
I’d lke to think mine has moved towards shorter, unusual but classic names.
I’ve never been good at this… I like both short and long names, but for long names a great nickname is a must! Nothing too modern, nothing too frilly for girls’ names, and nothing tooooo popular for either sex (though I’m becoming more open on that front, especially for boys’ names).
I like names with a long and interesting history behind them, I love a bit of clunkiness, and a kickass meaning is definitely a bonus! I have a huge weakness for mythological names, -o endings, and “spiky” letters like X, V and Z.
No idea what I’d define that as though!
I’m also loving o names at the moment. I stumbled upon Anno recently and fell in love.
I definitely agree with this. I notice it a lot in the “rate the previous signature thread”. Sometimes one person won’t have many good things to say about a signature, then another person may love most of them. Sometimes people share a overall style (ex. vintage names) or only share a style for a certain sex (ex. both like soft boy names, while one likes frilly girl names and the other likes unisex names on girls).
