[name_m]Hi[/name_m], wondering if anyone has ever heard of Jurmala before and how it was pronounced? Thanks!
I’ve never heard of Jurmala before. At first glance I would think it’s a modern name invention. Some googling shows that it’s a city in Latvia, but I can’t find any history of it being used as a first name.
Looks made up to me. I’d pronounce it GERM-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-LAH
In Latvian it’d be your-mal-a, sounds like: http://www.forvo.com/word/j%C5%ABrmala/
I like [name_f]Jelena[/name_f] (yuh-lee-na) more.
