Just a little Soul/Sol...

Hello!

I’ve loved the name Soul for years, absolutely stunning and in every way it’s just the perfect name. Except for one tiny detail, I can never find a middle name to work for her.

Right this moment Soul [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] is my favorite combo but even then it feels “off”. I feel as though Soul is so short and abrupt that anything that follows seems clunky. My list of potential middles consist of:

Soul [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]- My parents grew up on [name_m]Williams[/name_m] [name_m]Street[/name_m], super stretch but I like the VERY subtle nod.
Soul [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] // Soul [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Freja[/name_f] - I love the imagery, super whimsical and airy but strong. [name_f]Freja[/name_f] is one of my favorite girl names ever, so I don’t know if I want to just throw it in as a middle and “waste” it.
Soul [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] how it looks, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is just not a name I really have any connection to for me to use. That might not make sense but though it’s a gorgeous name, I don’t really ever see myself using it?
Soul [name_f]Elili[/name_f] - For the love of L’s I know this is a tongue twister, and [name_f]Elili[/name_f] I can’t find that much information on to even know it’s real origins. But I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this combo so much, probably my second favorite honestly.

So thank you for reading this book firstly. Any thoughts ok what I’ve come up with so far? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I’m lost and not finding a middle name that really sticks makes me feel like I should retire Soul, which would break my namer heart lol.

BONUS Q (As if you haven’t heard me ramble enough): I’ve come around to the [name_m]Sol[/name_m] spelling, I feel as though it has a bit more sweetness but I can’t fully tell which spelling is best so [name_m]Sol[/name_m] vs Soul?

Soul Amarillys is so sweet!! I like it a lot!!

Soul [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is brilliant too!!

Some others that came to mind

Soul Anneleise
Soul [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
Soul [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
Soul [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f]
Soul [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]
Soul [name_f]Kelilah[/name_f]
Soul [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
Soul [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
Soul [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]

i love [name_m]Sol[/name_m]! and even more so Soli!! (basically pronounced soul-ee) and i prefer [name_m]Sol[/name_m] over Soul
i adore Soul/[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]!!

Maybe it’s my Australian accent, but I pronounce Soul and [name_m]Sol[/name_m] quite differently.

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is lovely and I actually think it works really as an ode to [name_m]Williams[/name_m] [name_m]Street[/name_m].

I like Soul [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] the most out of your list, especially how it book ends with the letter “s.” It has a strong sense of intrigue and nice balance of femininity.

I’m in two minds about the spelling as well. Soul invokes similar qualities from the meaning of the word that [name_m]Sol[/name_m] just doesn’t. Things like warmth and heart. But for this reason, it also feels a bit too literal and reminds me of mortality. [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is nice and clean. I like it’s strength and directness. It’s has a strong unisex vibe whereas Soul feels instantly more feminine. So I guess it depends on what you’re going for. If it was to name a person, I would go with streamlined [name_m]Sol[/name_m].

Some ideas for you: Soul [name_f]Giordana[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f], Soul [name_f]Artemisia[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Tomasina[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Nephele[/name_f]

I think Soul [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] is just lovely, so it definitely gets my vote for combo. It feels both whimsical and light, as well as grounded and I don’t think it feels ‘off’ or ‘clunky’ at all myself. I do love [name_f]Freja[/name_f], but I do think it gets a little lost as the combo gets too complex with it as second middle ([name_f]Freja[/name_f] Nightingale, however, is gorgeous).

Soul is great for the connotations of the word, but [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is nice in its sweet, ‘sunny’ simplicity - I like both. With [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] as middle, I prefer the [name_m]Sol[/name_m] spelling: [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f].

I prefer the [name_m]Sol[/name_m] spelling. I think [name_m]Sol[/name_m]/Soul [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is lovely and quirky, and I like the meaning it has for you.

I think Soul [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is actually quite lovely! I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] works well as a middle name because it isn’t vowel heavy, would would flow too much into Soul. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], and [name_f]Annette[/name_f] would be other examples of names that feel balanced with Soul.

In my accent in English Soul and [name_m]Sol[/name_m] sound essentially the same, but feel very different. Soul, of course, has a particular meaning, while [name_m]Sol[/name_m] automatically means sun to me. I really like both, however, so I don’t think you could go wrong!

[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Rowena[/name_f]
[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_u]Everly[/name_u]

[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Violetta[/name_f]
[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]

after thinking about it more  Soul is nice I just prefer [name_m]Sol[/name_m] :sun_with_face:
