Just found hidden family names! Excited!

Wow! I found out this past week that I am due to have another boy in [name_u]January[/name_u]! I am so excited that he is a healthy little sprout but I was kind of bummed I don’t get to name a girl yet. BUT… the news made me start digging into our family trees. We have some great names not too far back that somehow I missed the first time around! Our great-grandfathers names…

Azel (very intriguing)
[name_m]Alson[/name_m]
[name_u]Douglas[/name_u]
[name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_m]Eugene[/name_m]
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]

Other family names:
[name_u]James[/name_u] (boring and my nephews name)
[name_m]Ted[/name_m]/[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Theo[/name_u]
[name_m]Kip[/name_m]/[name_m]Kipling[/name_m]
[name_m]Harlan[/name_m]

This got me pretty excited! Lots of these names I had never considered before but kind of like as a first or middle. What are your favorite combinations and variations of these names? The ones that I made right away were

Azel [name_u]Douglas[/name_u]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Alson[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]

What are your thoughts? Thanks for any help!

Big brother’s name is [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a family name.

Congratulations! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t forget to look for funky surnames while you’re exploring your family history!

[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Kipling[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Harlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Theo[/name_u]

Of your list I really like [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]! [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] and [name_m]Harlan[/name_m] are pretty awesome and uncommon. [name_m]Alson[/name_m] is really close to [name_u]Allison[/name_u] so I’m a bit off. Azel is a pronunciation issue…could sound like a-hole, or it could sound a cockney person saying [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], depending on the pronunciation. But overall you have a lot of cool names to play with!

[name_u]Laurence[/name_u] [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] has a nice ring to it. But I’m not sure how well that goes with [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]. Depends on how you feel about sibsets.

[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] ! Or [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]

[name_m]Kellen[/name_m] and [name_m]Kip[/name_m]/[name_m]Kipling[/name_m] is fantastic!

I agree with @mulme944 [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] and [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] are really cute! I really like [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] Azal.

I am so envious that you have a [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] to honour! I love love [name_m]Kip[/name_m] and if you’re okay to go with two Ks, then [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] Azel is super cool.

[name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] is the combination I like best (or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Theo[/name_u]’ [name_m]Kipling[/name_m]).

I agree with pp that [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] and [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] are super cute together! I really like [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] or [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m], so that little [name_m]Kip[/name_m] has a more traditional name to fall back on, should he need it, plus it matches the feel of [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] (awesome combo BTW!).

[name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_m]Alson[/name_m] are the standouts to me.
