Need some help please! We have just found out our baby due in Feb is a boy. I had [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] picked out as a girl name but no agreement on a boys name. My problem is that I have just realised my favourite boys name that I would have pushed for is [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Given that we are going to hopefully have a second child and that hopefully it would be a girl called [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], do you think [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] as a sibset is too similar?
The middle name needs to be [name_u]James[/name_u], and we have a long 3 syllable surname.
My husband really likes [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (which is the number 1 name here in NZ for pretty much the last 10 years so I think I just have to rule it out because of that), & would do [name_m]Jake[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] (under duress) but really I don’t [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] any of those names.
I am English originally, I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_m]Archie[/name_m] (but not [name_m]Archibald[/name_m], prob [name_m]Archer[/name_m] but hubby wont have it), and don’t hate [name_m]Jake[/name_m].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] finding boys really hard. So anyway my question is: could I have [name_m]Leo[/name_m] with [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], and if not, what is a good boys name that would go as a sibset with [name_f]Chloe[/name_f].
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is very popular too. I don’t think they are too close but I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] better.
Yes, [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] are similar but I don’t think they are too similar. I wouldn’t settle for a name I didn’t love.
Other options…
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_m]Liam[/name_m]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u]
Sorry but I find the [name_m]Leo[/name_m]/-loe thing quite similar visually and I would probably end up shouting “Loey! [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]! I mean, [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]!” lol Of course, if you can love no other names more than these, it’s not a huge deal. But personally, I would want two names that were a little more distinct.
I think you should not stress out about the possible but uncertain future use of [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], just focus on this little baby boy for now and finding a name you both can love for him. You may find if you someday have a daughter that you’ve completely changed your mind about [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], she doesn’t look like a [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] to you, etc, etc.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a fine name. [name_m]Jake[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a little repetitive to me.
Suggestions based on the different preferences of the two of you:
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] nicknamed [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
[name_m]Connor[/name_m]
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] nicknamed [name_m]Nate[/name_m]
[name_u]Mason[/name_u]
[name_u]Max[/name_u]
I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are a bit close, but I say use [name_m]Leo[/name_m]…who knows what your favorite girl name will be if/when you have a girl!
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] & [name_u]Sam[/name_u] would be really cute tho.
