A very new acquaintance of ours was over today and was talking about her niece who is [name]Rowan[/name]'s age. She casually said her name and I had to stop her and say “What did you say her name was? Spell that please” I don’t know whether to be intrigued or repulsed by this name… Havalind? From what I gathered, it’s totally made up but somehow it seems like a real name. WDYT?
I have a male friend name Haviland. He is very intriguing.
Also, there is [name]Olivia[/name] de Havilland, AKA [name]Melanie[/name] [name]Wilkes[/name], as a namesake?
Is it Havalind or Haviland?
In addition to the actress who played [name]Melanie[/name] [name]Wilkes[/name], Haviland [name]Morris[/name] was an actress in Sixteen Candles. I knew I’d heard the name before.
I know a woman named [name]Havilah[/name]. I never thought it was made up, but maybe it is?
I rather like the sound, and it gives the cute nicknames [name]Lindy[/name]/[name]Lindie[/name] and [name]Ava[/name]. That said, I wouldn’t use it; it does sound a bit made-up, and everyone will always ask her how to spell/pronounce it, and names that are that unusual are often difficult for others to remember.
I don’t really like it…
I know its a surname. Like [name]Olivia[/name] Havilland. She was screen actress from the 30s/40s. Maybe thats who she was name after.
I’ve never heard it before, but I like it.
It was definitely Havalind, I asked how she spelled it. It’s pronounced Hav-ah-lind.
Definitely spelled Havalind, I asked a few times. I somehow doubt she looked the name up or knew it was a surname or anything.
My first thought was maiden name used as a first name or some form of [name]Havilah[/name]?
I’m not a huge fan personally. It sounds like a mixed up version of the much prettier name [name]Evelyn[/name].
Yep, that’s my thought.
[name]Havilah[/name] is the name of one of the daughters in Fiddler on the Roof.
It is sorta interesting. Though it sounds a bit like “[name]Harvard[/name] [name]Land[/name]” in a [name]Boston[/name] accent, lol.
I immediately thought of the actress [name]Olivia[/name]. It strikes me as one of those [name]Golden[/name] Age of Hollywood surname names like [name]Harlow[/name] and [name]Monroe[/name]. [name]Kinda[/name] glamorous and pretty. I actually sort of like it.
