Just in case – a boys name

Nameberry helped me and DH come up with a name for our daughter on the way: [name_f]Etta[/name_f].

[name_m]Just[/name_m] yesterday I was talking with my aunt about the baby and she happened to mention that she was told my cousin would be a girl, but ended up being a boy. Should that happen, although I understand it’s very unlikely, we’d like to have a boys name in place just in case.

We didn’t even think about boys names this time around, but turns out we have the same problem we had with our girls name, which is nothing we like fits and we are super picky. Our three other kids are [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] “[name_u]Theo[/name_u]”, and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. We’re limited to names that don’t start with R, T, and F (or Ph), and don’t end in an “ee”, “o”, or “s” sound.

We love, love, love [name_m]Silas[/name_m], but are worried about it clashing with our daughter’s name ([name_f]Frances[/name_f]).There aren’t really any other boys names we love, but some we like are [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m] (kind of a guilty pleasure name, though), [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].

What would you suggest for us?

If you love [name_m]Silas[/name_m] so much, I would go with that. I can see what your concern is, but I really don’t think [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] clash enough for you not to use it if you love the name.

You could always use [name_m]Silas[/name_m] as a middle name, but if [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is your absolute favorite, I think you should go with that. I can see your concern, but I think you should use it if you love the name as much as you seem to.

From your list, I like [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. Or [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m].

[name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is lovely i think if u don’t want the similar ending as your dd’s name cos nn can be arch or archie.
