Just When I Thought We had Settled on a Name...

For some time we were settled on the name [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] ([name_m]Ah[/name_m]-duh-line) [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. However, we recently stumbled upon [name_u]Seren[/name_u] as a possible middle name and love it. Looking for some input–We are seriously considering switching. Help! Should we stick with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] as the middle or go with [name_u]Seren[/name_u]?

I think you should totally use [name_u]Seren[/name_u] if you really like it! Though I do think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] has a somewhat better flow.

[name_u]Seren[/name_u] is woefully underappreciated on this side of the pond. It’s beautiful.

The names [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] sort of flow into each other, whereas [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] sound like two separate, distinct names when said aloud. Not to mention [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is infinitely more gorgeous.

[name_u]Seren[/name_u]!!!

Thanks for the input thus far. Flow is definitely important as are syllables given our one syllable last name. We are shooting for a two syllable middle and are exhausted looking for one that provides good rhythm and does not run into the ending sound of [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. Corinne was an option for a while. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to make suggestions.

I love [name_u]Seren[/name_u]!

I’m in the minority, but I prefer [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Stylistically, the two names are a better match than [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. The flow is also better with [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].

I really like [name_u]Seren[/name_u], but I do agree that [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] flows a little better with [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] Lastname would still still work, it really comes down to which one you like more

Though I absolutely love [name_u]Seren[/name_u], I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] flows better.

What about doing both - [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]?

I am a big fan of [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is pretty too though.

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is much prettier! I would stick with that.

I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] sounds much better with [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].

Save [name_u]Seren[/name_u] for your next baby!

With both [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] & [name_u]Seren[/name_u] ending in n sounds, I’d stick w/[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] as the middle name.

I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] has a really nice flow and personal I think [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is more interesting than [name_f]Noelle[/name_f].

The flow of both [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] are slightly flawed.

[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]

would avoid the names running together and also avoid them both ending in “n”.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and thoughtful comments.

We really like the uniqueness of [name_u]Seren[/name_u] and the flow of [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Having said that, the suggestion of [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] was a hit! If flows and is not super common. Never thought of it. We love it.

I like [name_u]Seren[/name_u] a lot (and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u] looks pretty!), but I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] sounds better, and I think I like it better in general. I think [name_u]Seren[/name_u] would go better with another name, like maybe [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u]? Or [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_u]Seren[/name_u]?

Good luck!
