Justine Henin's daughter

For tennis fans, the belgian [name]Justine[/name] has been a fixture of women’s tennis for the last decade.

Her daughter’s name is Lalie.

Anyone know how pronounce this name?

I would guess [name]Lay[/name]-lee if she’s Belgian. If she was from Germany I might be inclined to say Lall-yeh. [name]Don[/name]'t quote me though, I’ve only visited Europe

It’s a pretty trendy name in [name]France[/name] (part of the [name]Lola[/name]-[name]Lilou[/name]-[name]Lily[/name] craze), where it’s pronounced lah-[name]LEE[/name].

I find Lalie forever stuck in childhood. It’s too cutesy to age well. I can’t imagine a grandma named Lalie. Babyish names seem to be a growing trend everywhere. We need more grown up names.

I quite like Lalie.

I just read this too! I’m a big tennis fan… congratulations [name]Justine[/name] and husband [name]Benoit[/name], welcome baby Lalie! I do find the name a bit cutesy but “ee” endings are fairly common in some European countries, aren’t they? [name]Just[/name] Googled and it’s pronounced lah-lee.
