K names? (and also Koda, Calix, August)

Ideally, I’d like a “k” name but so far either know too many people with, or just dislike, the one’s I’ve found (i.e. kai, kaden, kaleb, kale, kasey). Any other suggestions?

So far the only two I’ve come across that click are:

[name_m]Koda[/name_m] (too much a dog name?)
[name_m]Knox[/name_m] (love how it sounds, but too trendy?)

In the not so much k realm, what are folks thoughts on these?

[name_m]Calix[/name_m] (too ‘trendy’? Especially if spelt Kalix?)
[name_u]August[/name_u]

I like [name_m]Knox[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u]

Other k names
Kallum, [name_u]Kade[/name_u], [name_m]Kenton[/name_m], [name_m]Kingsley[/name_m], [name_u]Kolby[/name_u], [name_u]Keagan[/name_u], [name_m]Kendrick[/name_m], [name_m]Kingston[/name_m], [name_m]Kyan[/name_m], [name_m]Kane[/name_m]

I like [name_m]Knox[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] as well.

Other K names:

[name_u]Keats[/name_u]
Keating
[name_m]Kent[/name_m]
Kipling ([name_m]Kip[/name_m])
[name_m]Knut[/name_m]
[name_f]Kodiak[/name_f]

[name_u]Keats[/name_u] is quite nice!

The middle name will be [name_m]Russell[/name_m] (family name) also, if that helps. [name_u]Keats[/name_u] [name_m]Russell[/name_m]? [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_m]Russell[/name_m]?

[name_m]Kenyon[/name_m]
Kestrel
Kaius (prefer it with a ‘C’)
[name_u]Korbin[/name_u]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_u]Kirby[/name_u]
[name_m]Keverne[/name_m]
[name_u]Kerry[/name_u]
[name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m]

Oh, and [name_m]Killian[/name_m] and [name_m]Kelso[/name_m]!

I like [name_m]Knox[/name_m]. My two favorite K names are [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] and [name_u]Kyle[/name_u].

[name_m]Kemuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Kiefer[/name_m]
[name_m]Kingston[/name_m], [name_m]Kingsley[/name_m]
[name_m]Kendrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Kristoffer[/name_m] (I’m a big [name_u]Kris[/name_u] Kristofferson fan…)
[name_m]Kareem[/name_m]
[name_m]Kamil[/name_m], [name_m]Khalil[/name_m]

But I love [name_u]August[/name_u] and it’s own my own list.

I like [name_m]Knox[/name_m]

Hm, all great suggestions! So far I like these the best:

[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
Kade
[name_u]Keats[/name_u]
[name_m]Killian[/name_m]
[name_u]Keagan[/name_u]

What will sound best with MN [name_m]Russell[/name_m] (and last name ends in ‘ert’)?

Thanks folks!

I really like [name_m]Knox[/name_m]! I have [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_u]Keats[/name_u] on my list.

I would strongly recommend against misspelling a name just so that it begins with a K ([name_m]Kaleb[/name_m], [name_u]Kasey[/name_u], etc.).

[name_m]Koda[/name_m] does make me think of either a dog or bear ([name_f]Kodiak[/name_f]) or a camera (Kodak). [name_m]Knox[/name_m] is alright; NMS. I don’t think [name_m]Calix[/name_m] is too trendy, but I don’t particularly like it. I definitely dislike it spelled Kalix. [name_u]August[/name_u] is very nice.

Other K suggestions (if there are any repeats it’s because I’m seconding them!):

[name_m]Kane[/name_m] – strong, Irish
[name_m]Karl[/name_m] – [name_m]German[/name_m]/Scandinavian spelling
[name_m]Kean[/name_m]/[name_m]Keane[/name_m] – or [name_m]Cian[/name_m]
[name_m]Keanu[/name_m] – maybe too connected to [name_m]Reeves[/name_m]
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u] – perhaps not the most attractive meaning
[name_m]Keefe[/name_m]/[name_m]Kiefer[/name_m] – Irish and [name_m]German[/name_m], respectively
[name_u]Keegan[/name_u] – but only spelled this way
[name_m]Kendrick[/name_m] – surname name, I don’t know if you mind that
[name_m]Kent[/name_m] – very strong and masculine
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] – though I much prefer the [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] spelling
[name_m]Knut[/name_m]/[name_m]Knute[/name_m] – very unique
[name_m]Kristof[/name_m]/[name_m]Kristoffer[/name_m] – Scandinavian spelling of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]

ETA: I think Keaton, Keegan, and Kieran sound the best with mn Russell.

I think the most popular choices are Gaelic. I’ll throw in a few more:
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m], or a less conventional variation, [name_m]Kennet[/name_m]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_m]Kaspar[/name_m] (along with other C names that may be spelled with a K… [name_m]Konrad[/name_m], [name_m]Klement[/name_m], [name_m]Karl[/name_m])
Kline
[name_m]Kale[/name_m]
Kalani (Hawaiian, “from the heavens”)
…I’ve always liked [name_u]Kyle[/name_u].

Oh, love the [name_m]Killian[/name_m] suggestion (though I’m more of a fan of the [name_m]Cillian[/name_m] spelling)!

It’s not a K- name, but since you like [name_m]Koda[/name_m] (looks like Yoda to me), and [name_m]Calix[/name_m], how about Codex? Nicknames could be [name_u]Cody[/name_u] or [name_m]Dex[/name_m].

Some of my favorites are…
[name_u]Kasey[/name_u]
[name_m]Kannon[/name_m]
[name_m]Kiefer[/name_m]
[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
[name_m]Kick[/name_m]
[name_m]Kendrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Kort[/name_m]
[name_m]Kraig[/name_m]

I do like how Codex sounds, but it just seems a wee bit too close to Kotex for my taste! [name_m]Kannon[/name_m] is nice but unfortunately I have a cousin named [name_m]Cannon[/name_m].

But thank you for all the suggestions! K names are far more difficult than I realized for a more gender neutral to masculine side of things. So many for girls!

I think it might come down to [name_m]Killian[/name_m] or [name_m]Knox[/name_m]…
