[name_m]Hi[/name_m], my husband and I like the name [name_u]Kai[/name_u] for a baby but want a longer full name. A friend told us they could see [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] as a nickname. Wondering if anyone else agrees?
Thanks!

I think it works, though it may be a bit of a stretch.
[name_m]Nikolai[/name_m], Malachi/Malakai, Caius/Kaius, [name_u]Kyler[/name_u], Mekhi/Makai, or kyson might be some more straightforward options to get the nickname [name_u]Kai[/name_u]
Yes I agree that it is kind of a stretch. But it’s your baby and it’s kind of a cool nickname
Sorry I just don’t see it
[name_m]Eh[/name_m], I don’t see it, but if it makes sense to you go ahead. I’m not sure if it will 100% stick though.
It doesn’t make sense to me.
I’d go for a Hawaiian name as a longer version of [name_u]Kai[/name_u]. Any particular sounds or meaning you’d like? I’ll look
Don’t agree, can’t see it.
Suggestions:
[name_m]Ikaia[/name_m]
[name_m]Kailer[/name_m]
[name_u]Kainoa[/name_u]
[name_u]Kairi[/name_u]
[name_u]Kairo[/name_u]
[name_m]Kaison[/name_m]
[name_m]Zakai[/name_m]
Too much of a stretch. If you love [name_u]Kai[/name_u], name him [name_u]Kai[/name_u].
[name_m]Eh[/name_m] I don’t think it works plus [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] doesn’t really need a nickname. What about [name_m]Kaius[/name_m]? I know one and they go by the nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u] too.
I could see it but to me it isn’t an obvious nickname.
I guess it could work, maybe for the [name_m]Isaak[/name_m] spelling?
I don’t really see it, sorry! I think [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u] (or if you wanted you could alter the spelling to be Malakai), would be perfect for you if you like [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]! The names have similar feels in my opinion, but [name_u]Kai[/name_u] is way more intuitive as a nickname
