Surprise gender so now trying to finalize the girl name. [name_f][/name_f]Sibling is [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]Husband is danish so needs to be compatible with that heritage. I LOVE [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] but the only thing I wanted opinions about is whether people think [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] is too similar?? [name_f][/name_f]Also have [name_f]Sia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- do you think too many people will think of the singer? [name_f][/name_f]And [name_f]Luna[/name_f]- this name seems to be taking off. I do love it but unsure if it might be too much of a âdogâ name

For the middle name I was thinking [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] after my great grandmother.
K@sper and [name_f]Sia[/name_f] make a wonderful pair! [name_f]My[/name_f] first association is the singer, but I donât think thatâs a bad connection at all. [name_f]Sia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is absolutely adorable. The fact that it sounds like âsea pearlâ makes it even more precious. Plus, [name_f]Sia[/name_f] has a powerful meaning.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] is a beautiful name. Itâs international, bright, and sweet. I really like it, but in terms of style, I feel that [name_f]Sia[/name_f] is a better match.
[name_f][/name_f]
Unfortunately, I do think [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] are a bit too similar.
Kaia - Not too similar in my view. They share an inital but the vowel sounds are distinct. Even with a non-rhotic accent like mine the endings arenât too similar. I donât think it would be confusing.
Also, if I met a family with a Kasper and Kaia I would notice the shared initial but I wouldnât think anything of it. I prefer different initials myself but I think I would forgo that preference for the right name. Sounds to me like Kaia is your top favourite so I think you should go for it.
Sia - The connection to the singer is quite strong for me personally, but Iâm Australian so it might be a stronger association for me than others. While there have been a couple controversies surrounding the singer, I donât think they are general knowledge or would make the name unusable.
It really depends how you feel about people making references to the singer, like asking if youâre fans. It may not come up very much, but if itâs not your very favourite, Iâd probably skip it.
Luna - Not a huge fan of the name personally, but it is well loved and quite popular in many countries including Denmark (#2) and USA (#10). I often see people mention it as a dogâs name, and know one dog personally, but I donât see how that affects anything. People are clearly still choosing the name for their daughters.
Pearl is a lovely choice for middle name, and would also make a great first name.
Some suggestions based on your list:
Lucia - Mix of Luna and Sia
Lena
Lea
Clara
Una
Yuna
Pia
Vera
Elva
Eva
Sanne

Maia

I think theyâre fine; the strong KYE sound of [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] makes them distinctive.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
I would think of the singer tbh -I guess youâd have to decide whether that bothers you or not. Itâs a sweet name, but I do think you might get âlike the singer?â comments sometimes.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
Considering its current popularity, I donât think itâs too much of dog name at all!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would be my favourite options!
I love all 3 names but I really love Kaia the most!!
Kaia Pearl is very sweet and doesnât give a 2 object/thing name like Luna Pearl would, and doesnât sound like a sentence like Sia Pearl would (See a Pearl)
Even without the middle name I would still be rooting for Kaia as I donât think itâs too close to Kasper at all and Kasper and Kaia sound so sweet as a sibset
Either way and if you do end up going with Luna or Sia too I think all of them work great!
Editing to add - if you happen to want a longer name for Luna, I love Lunalia or Lunaria
Both are pretty rare but still easy to say. Iâm guessing you love names ending -ia (which I also do) so these might be good options too!
I love [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f]I read a book âwhere the crawdads singâ by [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_m]Owens[/name_m] and let me tell you if youâre not a fan of the name you will be after this book. I think there are alternative spellings [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Kiah[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f], [name_f]Kaya[/name_f] if it feels too close to [name_m]Kasper[/name_m]. In the book [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] was [name_f]Kaia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Sia[/name_f] reminds me of the singer [name_f][/name_f], but I think [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] or [name_f]Sierra[/name_f] could work with Sis as a [name_m]Nick[/name_m] name. Generally I am a fan of longer names with cute nickname options
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] is a hard one for me to get behind but I can see the appeal. Itâs personally not a name I would use though.
[name_f]Sia[/name_f] is my favorite with [name_m]Kasper[/name_m], I adore her distinct & pretty sound! [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] would be a close runner up for me. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is lovely as well, but she is definitely climbing in popularity, so if that bothers you I would avoid it. To address your concerns:
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] are different enough I think â the only thing they really have in common is the first letter. As long as the alliteration doesnât bother you, I say go for it!
[name_f][/name_f]
Iâve met a [name_f]Sia[/name_f] before, and while she did get a few comments about the singer I wouldnât say [name_f]Sia[/name_f] is popular enough for the association to be overwhelming.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Sia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] & [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] are both stunning combinations!! A few more suggestions you might like⌠[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lilou[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lucine[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lumi[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Twila[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Vega[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Raya[/name_f]
I adore [name_f]Kaia[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] are adorable together, and I donât think they are too similar at all? [name_f][/name_f] I love it for you.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Sia[/name_f] has a lovely meaning, but I do think of the singer, unfortunately, and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] has become very popular here, both for humans and pets. [name_f][/name_f] I love the both Nordic and laid-back beachy vibes that make [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] feel perfect for a Scandi-Australian family! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Sia[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] are lovely names, and I think both would be great options for your babe, but Iâm super loving [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] for you! [name_f][/name_f] Good luck!
I agree [name_f]Luna[/name_f] too trendy including among the puppies. I donât think it ages especially well (feels a bit babyish to me compared the others)
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Sia[/name_f] or even [name_f]Zia[/name_f] is cool (Zia if youâre worried about the singer [name_f][/name_f]- bur I donât think it will matter for your child herself).
[name_f][/name_f]
I donât mind [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] but would be less included if youâre having more kids. Works best if youâre two Ks and done. [name_f]Kira[/name_f] would be good too.
