Kalia Tessa and my unique picks

My first born is 16 now and his name is [name]Kylan[/name]. [name]Just[/name] found out we are having a girl so Kalia [name]Tessa[/name] is what we decided on and I am quite happy with it. I wanted a unique K-name, but nothing too trendy or fluffy. All our kids were born on Guam and she is the only one born in [name]California[/name] so her nickname would be [name]Kali[/name] (pronounced like [name]Cali[/name]). I also decided that her second name would be after my Mom, whose name is [name]Tessie[/name]. This is her first baby granddaughter - she is excited.

[name]Just[/name] thought I’d share my other picks since I’ve been obsessing about names since the day I found out I had one on the way. I had a fixation on names with K,Z,X. My name is [name]Mimi[/name] so sometimes a nickname close to mine was a deciding factor.

…And [name]Just[/name] in case I change my mind about my Kalia [name]Tessa[/name]…at least I can look here for thoughts :slight_smile:

Good story! And congrats on a girl! I like the name. I think the rhythm might be a little better on Kalia [name]Tess[/name] if you’re open to suggestions. But [name]Tessa[/name] is such a lovely name and Kalia [name]Tessa[/name] works. It also depends some on your last name. Of the others you were considering, I really like [name]Amelie[/name], [name]Isla[/name], [name]Layla[/name], and [name]Zara[/name]. I think you picked the best of your K names, although Kalixa is pretty cool : D. I might suggest [name]Kallista[/name] as another cool option. From your boy list I rea.ly like [name]Dax[/name], [name]Quentin[/name], [name]Reeve[/name], [name]Waylen[/name], [name]Xander[/name] and [name]Zane[/name].

Are you going to pronounce Kalia [name]Kaylee[/name]-ah, or Kah-[name]LEE[/name]-ah? or rhyming with [name]Dahlia[/name]? I can see this name having some minor prn difficulties. But it’s not too hard.

Thanks! It’s the 3-syllable prn. I already know a [name]Kalea[/name] and a [name]Malia[/name] so it was hard to decide. But none really flows with [name]Tess[/name]/a. Most ppl call my mom [name]Tess[/name] so that “a” makes the difference. All my other kids (from my husbands first marriage) are J-names do those were mostly off limits because our family is so J-heavy.
