Katarina?

My husband is very challenging when it comes to selecting baby names, but we’ve made some progress, and we both agreed that we really like [name_f]Katarina[/name_f]. What do you think?

Also, the more Latin version of this name is [name_f]Catarina[/name_f], which makes sense for us ethnically, but how do you feel about this spelling over the more commonly used ‘K’ spelling?

Thank you!

I usually prefer C over K in names. [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] is very pretty.

Thank you!

Unless I was corrected I would assume that she spelled her name [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] although seeing them in writing, I like both spellings. One consideration is that she may have to always say “[name_f]Catarina[/name_f] with a C”, not that that’s a deal breaker.

I think both spellings are fine. I think the spellings lend themselves to different nicknames. For example [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] could be: [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], [name_f]Trina[/name_f] and [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] could be: [name_f]Cat[/name_f], [name_f]Cate[/name_f], [name_f]Trina[/name_f]. I also think @whitegardenia brings up a good point. Definitely not a deal breaker, but something to consider.

I like [name_f]Katarina[/name_f].
